Nestled in the heart of Bathurst, this Indian eatery tantalizes taste buds with its array of delectable dishes. During my recent visit, I sampled a variety of culinary delights, each promising an authentic taste of India. While the dal, a staple lentil dish, fell short of expectations with its average flavor profile, the rest of the menu truly shone. The paneer butter masala, a creamy and indulgent vegetarian delight, surpassed all expectations, leaving me craving for more. The rich and aromatic gravy perfectly complemented the tender chunks of paneer, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. As for desserts, both the kheer and gulab jamun were exquisite treats that rounded off the meal on a sweet note. The kheer, a creamy rice pudding infused with delicate spices, provided a comforting end to the meal, while the gulab jamun, soft and syrupy, melted in my mouth with every bite. With its delicious offerings and cozy ambiance, this Indian restaurant in Bathurst is sure to delight any food enthusiast seeking an authentic culinary experience.

The restaurant has a rustic vibe to its decor and is quite comfortable for having a conversation among friends amidst good Indian food. We had the Seekh kebab, Chicken Tikka, Yellow Dal Fry and Bengali Lamb curry with Lachedar Parathe and rice. The starters were really well seasoned and presentation was on point. Though it was evident the kebabs had been grilled earlier and had been reheated for us the taste was good so no complaints there. But in the main course while the dal and rice were delicious the lamb curry was not at all enjoyable. The lamb pieces were extremely tough and the gravy had a weird taste to it. Wouldn't recommend the Bengali Lamb curry but everything else was quite good. Lastly the server was extremely friendly and left a very good impression on us with her candid nature and good conversation.

Very good restaurant in a small town like Bathurst! I brought my family here for dinner. We had a very good time! Great ambience, a great place to experience Indian culture! Outstanding services from waitresses! Foods to table are fast, and delicious curry! Lamb shanks, and vindaloo are must tries! BYO allowed, corkage $3 per person. Highly recommend!

Very dissapointed with the the quality and quantity of food, compared with what was available a while back at this restaurant. On 20/12/2013, we bought takeaways which were supposed to feed 6 people (as stated on the menu, and which was true earlier). However, on reaching home, we found that the takeaway containers were almost HALF FULL. We had paid for 5 curries, which were in fact 2.5 only. The taste was good, however we felt cheated as we had paid a significant sum for these takeaways, and we felt that we did not get our money's worth!!! Since we had guests at home, we were forced to go to KFC and bring in more food to feed ourselves. This was not the case with this restaurant before! The prices have gone up, and the quantities are reducing. I am not cribbing about the taste, the food is still tasty. However, the quantity is not worth the money you spend. Not only was the overall quantity less in the "half full" takeaway containers, there was more gravy and less meat. We had the feeling that 1 curry serving had been literally watered down to make up 2 servings!! Sorry to write this review, but once upon a time this was my favourite Indian Restaurant (since I am of Indian...

Placed an order via the OZFoodHunter app (as prompted on Tamarin website) at 5:20pm. App said it would be ready (delivered) in 45 mins. Half an hour later, got a confirmation text saying my order would be ready in 80 mins! Rang the restaurant at 6:30; they said that OZFoodHunter had had internet problems, and had relayed my order over the phone. They assured me that the driver would be leaving in 10-15 mins. At 7:30, we called them again, to be told the driver had “just left”. The driver, however, went to the wrong address in another suburb (although the correct address was clearly written on the bag). We finally received our meal, cold, at almost 8:00. Why does Tamarin use OZFoodHunter, which is so poor and badly reviewed? Why was OZFoodHunter taking orders when it was having significant problems in actually placing those orders? Why were we lied to about delivery times by the restaurant? Why did the driver not even read the address? If I had known that our meal would take 2.5 hours, I’d have got drive-thru Maccas. Small children were kept hungry and a birthday dinner was ruined. The food was cold; ok but nothing to...

We ordered a take away meal from the Tamarin Indian Restaurant last Friday night, 27th November. Having previously eaten at the restaurant and having also enjoyed their take away meals we were anticipating an enjoyable meal and we were delighted with our choices. The food was freshly cooked to order. Having rung the order through we were happy to wait the 40 mins for preparation. The Tandoori chicken was a generous serve, beautifully flavoured and very moist. The Lamb Saagwala was tender & tasty. The Goa fish curry was very popular and I only managed to get a small taste, but it was good. The vegetable dish Navratan Korma made a good accompaniment to the other dishes. The garlic Naan was great, we ordered 2 pieces between three of us which was perfect. The entree of the prawn popcorn with pickled cream was flavoursome and nicely cooked,as was the pepper chicken. The free poppadans were very crispy and tasty. Surprisingly we had significant left overs which were just as lovely the next day. I will continue to make the Tamarin my "must do" restaurant for dining in or take away food.when i...
