Been coming here for a few years during race week (Bathurst 1000) and it's always good. Except today (Wednesday 4th October 2023) was... slow and bad. 3/4 full at most, heaps of staff, cooks working hard. Yet... two of us ordered toasted sandwiches which came out untoasted. Sandwiches. We mentioned it but it was not understood nor fixed. 25 minutes later the food we ordered at the same time came out. Eggs on sourdough, supposedly toasted but it lacked any toasted colour and was warmish. This might seem like griping but 20, 25, 30 minute wait for two pieces a bread and two eggs that cost $14 ($25 with a coffee and a side a hollandaise) is stupid bad. Another meal came out after 45 minutes. Two of us got coffees in take away cups. My flat white was a latte. My broinlaw didn't eat his poached eggs because they tasted heavily of vinegar. My nephew in law ordered a latte with caramel and got a milkshake. An end of a tradition because we won't be back.

So I stopped off for breakfast. Ordered eggs bene, hard to stuff that up so I thought. Firstly the waitress gave me the incorrect meal. I brought this to her attention, and she simply took it away and gave it to the guy sitting opposite me. Luckily I didn’t touch it. I would not have enjoyed getting food from another table…. My meal arrived in a timely manner. I cut into the egg, and it’s rock hard. I was really hoping for some yummy runny yolk but not a chance. The egg tasted like vinegar, the sourdough was very toasted and almost impossible to cut. It was very disappointing overall. Won’t be back.

From the moment we ordered to sitting down, the speed and expediency of the staff on duty was very good (especially on a weekend right after ANZAC Day). We ordered a Venu club sandwich, flathead fillets fish and chips and a classic mango smoothie. The food came out very promptly (within 10 minutes) and everything was tasty. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a nice air down cafe in the Bathurst town centre area.

Mum & I used to absolutely love going to the Venue on a regular basis for breakfast & lunch. We still love the Venue but feel like it has slightly changed, or has a lot more competition around Bathurst now.

The last time we went it took a while to get served as the counter staff were having a conversation with a customer, their was no one else behind me, it was pretty quiet but I didn't even feel acknowledged until the conversation was done after a few minutes. The food was still lovely, but my Mum wasn't a fan of the tough sourdough bread as it hurt her teeth, and it was difficult for the both of us to cut through as well.

Don't get me wrong, we still love this place and will continue to return, they have the best freshly made sandwiches, juices, everything else, I just hope they take this on as feedback, as they now have a lot more to compete with...

I purchased a takeaway flat white in jumbo size this afternoon around 3:30(23nd December 2018), the price on menu was $5.50. When I was about to pay, the cashier tell me it’s $6, I didn’t question why cuz I just thought it must be surcharge for holidays. Anyways, I gave $10 notes and she gave me back 2 gold coins change, and I put it into my back pants pocket straightaway. When I got back to hotel, 2 gold coins slip out of my pants while I was changing and that is when I noticed that 2 gold $1 coins on the floor. I don’t know if she made mistakes or what, but my local Aussie friend told me it is very hard for a local resident to be mistaken by $1 and $2 coins. Yes. I’m from overseas and came to here for holidays. it’s not hard for her to tell, so disappointed for her behaviors....
