Our usual fav go-to Viet restaurant was closed for holidays so we googled other Viet restaurants near us and came across this hidden gem nestled away in the back streets of Mt Gravatt. There weren’t many reviews but we thought we’d give it a crack.
Food: Ordered Bun Bo hue (Spicy beef soup), pork spring rolls and pork chop broken rice comb • Spicy beef soup was hands down the best we’ve had - definitely will get your jaw swinging. Pho stock is bursting with flavours, generous amount of beef, pork and extras - straight banger🔥. Spring rolls is jam packed with pork fillings, temp hot and crispy. Pork chops is hectic delicious - you can taste the lemon grass marinade - Alice Viet is legit authentic Viet cuisine - you won’t be disappointed.
Service: We were served by Huyên - she was very welcoming and bubbly - Huyên gave us a quick history lesson re their family Viet restaurant business - only been open for 5mnths in Mt Gravatt but they’ve been sharing their Viet cuisine in Brisbane for over 15yrs at their other location. Service was quick and prompt - depends on business upon arrival.
Atmosphere: Beautifully, decorated to provide customers with a sneak peak of Viet culture. Very clean - table presentation is on-point. AC gracefully, allows customers to chill, relax and enjoy their meal.
🚨The only con I can think of is probably parking. Street parking is limited - Coles parking across the street (Park at your own risk). We dined in late Tues night - not a problem with parking - just a heads up if you decide to dine in during weekends.
👌We can’t wait for our second visit to try other dishes. Highly recommend Alice Viet Restaurant - you won’t be disappointed.

Read moreThis is a fully licensed restaurant serving Vietnamese food. It’s new to Brisbane as of August 2023 but the family behind it has been running a vegetable farm and restaurant in Alice Springs for over 15 years.
Whilst you’ll find your Vietnamese staples like pho, here the menu is more focused on shared dishes and group dining, and the restaurant’s seating setup is more geared towards this with a number of round tables catering for larger groups. It’s a bright and spacious setup (a noticeable contrast to how cosy most other Vietnamese eateries in Brisbane can get), with solid wooden furniture, colourful murals and decor, and background music adding to the overall ambience.
Food we tried: [117] Vietnamese style steamed whole baby Australian silver perch, $37.80 - with ginger, spring onion, pepper & special Tinh & Lan soy sauce [110A] Tofu and vegetables with cashew nuts, $19.90 - carrots, onion, ginger, celery, bok chop, soy sauce
It was nice to try something a bit different to what we'd usually see/order at our go-to Vietnamese restaurants. The food was pretty tasty on this occasion and I look forward to returning to sample more from their menu.

Read moreI recently dined at a Alice Viet Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant's ambiance was charming, with traditional Vietnamese decor that transported me to another world.
My husband and kids ordered the classic Pho, and it was a bowl of steaming, aromatic perfection. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The generous portion of tender beef and fresh herbs made it even better.
I, myself, ordred a broken rice dish and it was a delightful. The dish consisted of a mound of fragrant broken rice grains, topped with a variety of flavorful elements. Grilled pork, thinly sliced and marinated to perfection, was the highlight. It was tender, slightly sweet, and had a hint of smokiness that made it irresistible. To top it off, we ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which was a sweet and strong caffeine kick that rounded out the meal perfectly. The service was attentive, and the staff was friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Kids approved 👌 so we definitely will be back. Highly...
