We ordered a bunch of skewers and they came out very tasty. Not the best cuts of meat but tasty due to all the heavy seasoning. Spicy means really hot even for me and I love spicy food. The reason I give this place 1 stars is because of the poor service. They have a system where you order, they print out a docket and put it in front of your table. When the staff serve you the food, they tick off each item. It's a similar system to what you see at yum cha restaurants. I was double checking the docket because they forgot one item, had the docket in my hand, and a staff member aggressively snatched it out of my hand when she brought our food out. She said nothing and just proceeded to tick off the item on the list. It really caught me off guard. So, I tried it again when the same staff member came around. I had the docket in my hand, again she snatched it out of my hand without even bothering to say sorry. Her behaviour really left me confused and perplexed thinking it could be a cultural thing? That said, I frequent Asian restaurants all the time and I appreciate some of these places don't have the best service. After thinking about it again, I don't think there is any excuse for that kind of behaviour - it's just plain rude to snatch something out of someone's hand...I would not recommend going here if you are after a good customer...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Grill and Roll Chinese BBQ, and it was an exceptional experience. The flavors were incredibly authentic, showcasing the true essence of Chinese BBQ. Every bite was bursting with deliciousness, leaving a lasting impression. I would definitely return for more.
While the service was fine, it's important to note that the staff is constantly busy attending to the tables and dishing up food and skewers. So, don't expect too much personal attention. However, this didn't bother me at all, as the main focus for me was the incredible food.
I have visited Grill & Roll multiple times, and I must say that their food is consistently delicious. The quality and flavors remained exceptional throughout each visit. It's no wonder that the place is always packed.
Although some items that require more cooking may arrive slightly late, it's to be expected. After all, it's better to have them come out slightly delayed than raw. The wait is worth it.
To avoid any disappointment, I highly recommend making a booking in advance. The popularity of Grill and Roll Chinese BBQ means that securing a table can be challenging, especially during peak hours. Planning ahead will ensure a smooth and enjoyable...
Read moreThis is a rare case where I’m compelled to write a negative review out of sheer necessity so this place does not keep getting fake praises from other predominantly Chinese social media. The beef skewers are the worst I’ve had in Brisbane, tough, chewy, oh so much fatty bits. There are basically inedible, I can’t understand how other reviewers could put hand on their heart to say this is better than any of other places either in terms of meat quality or bbq technique. The spicy skewers are way too spicy and as mentioned meat quality is in the gutters. Save your money and buy maccas up the road which is way more delicious in comparison. Even the wontons are too thick skinned and no taste besides starchy. If I had to pick a positive dish it’s the stir fried instant noodle which is delicious in contrast. But spending 200 dollars to enjoy instant noodle is hardly convincing in this economic climate. Will never return obviously for myself and my immediate family...
