Great tasting food, with very fast service despite the busy queue!. You may have trouble getting a table - so I'd suggest grabbing a table before you order at the counter. Their classic pitas are cooked traditionally on long skewers over searing charcoal, so the flavours are quite delicious and the meat is succulent. Water, condiments, utensils, napkins and glasses are available at a station near the counter, staff do not bring it to your attention when you order. Soft drinks, beer on tap too, cider, red & white wine, and they also offer a good selection of Australian, Italian, Greek and Mexican beers. High chairs are located behind the half wall, underneath the neon "Food Honestly" sign at the back of the restaurant. Kids meals are available, do ask at the counter for the Zeusy Activities for kids. Gluten free pita is also available. Their slogan is "Food Honestly" and they pride themselves on partnering only with people like themselves - who value quality, sustainability and integrity. Therefore they place great importance on sourcing their food's origins, supporting locally grown 100% Australian produce, ensuring free range, open pasture, grass fed, antibiotic & hormone free meats, and bread baked daily etc. This may explain why their prices are more expensive than...
Read moreDined here just before Christmas and to be honest I should have reported this place. Both my partner ended up with food poisoning. I thought food would be exactly the same as their Southbank store (where we have been multiple times and is absolutely delicious). Boy was I wrong! Staff were fine however the food here was absolutely disgusting and bland. We ordered 2 Tzimmy chicken classic wraps and a greek salad and chips and 2 beers. The salad dressing was missing vinegar. The lemon used in the salad tasted as if it had been sitting in the heat. We were half way through our wraps and thought to double check as the chicken didn't have that taste of being cooked over coals like it does every time we have eaten at the Southbank store. We opened the wraps up and noticed the chicken was maybe JUST cooked (not charred at all, not even brown for that matter). We ended up leaving as one of us was already needing to go to the bathroom. Please please please ensure your chicken is cooked before serving, as this could have ended very differently. . If chicken isn't ready, please just let your customers know it isn't ready. Such a disappointment to spend so much and end up with...
Read moreFirst time in ZSG today! We had a couple dishes: from the spit lamb shoulder with tzatziki and pita for sides, halloumi chips, spartan bowl with pork and sides of greek salad pilaf, and lastly the saganaki
Service was excellent, the cashier was both patient while we decided and very accommodating.
Sadly, the food was disappointing. My lamb was too fatty and simply warm, pita bread is store bought (not even the good kind) and tzatziki lacked seasoning for it to called tzatziki :( more just a yoghurt dip.
Pork was warm as well, pilaf was okay, but the salad was lazy work with uneven slices. Its was ok but not worth its price.
Saganaki is one of our favorite greek dishes but they absolutely butchered it here and it is now a chewy slice of cheese with a spoonful of honey.
Halloumi chips was the only redemption, very crunchy and well cooked!
Overall though it was a sad day for us expecting something more. The review of 3 stars is as accurate as it gets, docking a point for the food and another for the price since its not worth the portions. Absolutely not worth another visit. Maybe just...
