CLOVE Burgers & Fried chicken — Restaurant in Brisbane City

The first time I ate at Clove my mind was blown it was the best chicken burger I have ever tried. The second time however we were very disappointed. Went there last night and I am not sure if they are doing something different but both our chicken burgers didn’t seem to have much actual chicken. Very different from last time I was there. Both fried chicken patties were very thin and it really ruined the texture of the burger. The second thing that really annoyed me was after spending 40 bucks on 2 burgers and fries and another 18 bucks on some beers to be asked to pay 1.5 bucks for the tiniest bit of ketchup you have ever seen seemed like daylight robbery. Seriously 58 bucks and you can’t give me what probably costs you 5 cents of ketchup is just silly and terrible service.

So in summary was great but seems to be going down hill. Will try again and see...

I stumbled across this cozy little restaurant while searching for new Korean Fried Chicken restaurants to try (outside of the main franchises) - the reviews to date had certainly been impressive so far.

I can tell you that the high ratings are well deserved. The fried chicken was crispy, well seasoned, while the meat itself was very tender.

The burger menu also piqued my interest, and the boys and I decided we had to try them as well. I tried the classic beef burger, which surprisingly was one of the better American style burgers I've had - even better than certain popular franchises. The patty was moist, the buns soft, with a just enough sauce and accompaniments such as pickle. The burger was also stacked beautifully.

Ella is a dream. After the terrible NO service next door at Quan Thanh, I was so pleased to be met by a smile and a truely gentle kind person. I was miffed but Ella was so nice I very soon calmed and ordered. I would have taken a pic but it looked and smelled so good I devoured the burger. A beautiful text on the bag and quick service. The burger ( which wasn’t what I wanted at all that night) was so delicious. As locals we’ll go again regularly even if I have to diet all week to earn the amazing fullness of the burger. It did not disappoint. Nor did the timely and kind service. She even apologised for her neighbour stores bad experience and was professional about it. No bad talk just sorry that was my experience.
