We finally got to have vegetarian high tea after recommendations from a friend of a friend. Started off with getting to the restaurant and the doors were closed. The owner turns up at around 11.50am and says to us they don't open till 12. My friend advised that booking was made at 12, the owner said she spoke to my friend (eventhough she spoke to another lady). Right from the start the owners attitude was absolutely atrocious, unprofessional and rude.
The food wasn't bad but I wouldn't say it was the best thing I ever ate. The waitress who served us was lovely and professional. Due to the amount of food we asked if we could have takeaway containers, the waitress advised that due to health reasons we can't do takeaway. Another friend then requested containers or she would go to Coles. The waitress went to the owner who then came to tell us that they don't allow takeaway but said she will be charging us $3.90 per container (what a bloody joke!). Also have to mention the toilets were disgusting! Bits of hair on the seat, the bowel had brown stains and the bin wasn't emptied so rubbish piled on top.
This was the first and last time we will be visiting. Very dissapointing as we were looking forward to this. To the owner Dolly, if you're having a bad day, don't take it out on your paying customer. No one wants to be greeted by...
Read moreI recently tried the vegetarian biryani, samosa, and malai paneer at Garlic Clove Indian Brisbane. While there were some things I enjoyed about the food, overall I found the experience to be somewhat underwhelming.
Starting with the positives, the malai paneer was definitely the standout dish. The paneer itself was tender and flavorful, and the creamy sauce was a nice complement. I also appreciated the generous portion size.
The samosas were decent. The pastry was a bit too thick for my liking, and the potato filling was on-point.
Unfortunately, the vegetarian biryani was a bit of a letdown. The rice itself was cooked well, but the flavor was lacking. I found myself wanting more spices and seasonings to give the dish more depth and complexity.
In terms of service, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere.
Overall, while there were some dishes I enjoyed at Garlic Clove Indian Brisbane, I don't think I'll be rushing back anytime soon. For the price point, I was hoping for a more memorable dining experience.
Aside to this, we took some time to find parking along the streets as there were limited street parking...
Read moreSo I get it was very busy as there was a rugby game nearby. I ordered a pint and a water to start. The beer came in a small plastic solo cup and there was ZERO chance it was a pint size and no water. The waitress came by again about 15 minutes later and asked if I needed anything .. to which I replied .. the water. She proceeded to tell me that the water was self serve at the bar. Which would have been nice to know 15 minutes ago. I went up to the bar and the there were glasses but no pitchers of water. The bartender told me he’d bring me a pitcher .. so i sat down and again had no water. My food finally came which to be honest took over 1/2 hr but i wasn’t mad about that .. I still had no water. When the waitress brought the food she said again.. do you need anything else .. again. the water which I finally got 40 minutes later The food was fine.. nothing extraordinary. I got the wrong NAAN bread also. There was one guy who worked here who seemed like he was the only one who knew what he was doing, everyone else seemed like they would’ve needed help figuring out...
