Army Museum South Queensland - Victoria Barracks — Attraction in Brisbane City

We visited at the Victoria Barracks Army Museum today and caught a glimpse of what was behind those sandstone walls. Interesting history of the site dating back to the eighteen hundreds and a timeline of events up to present day were explained. Many interesting artifacts to view, buildings to look at and hear the stories associated to them, souvenirs to purchase and a lovely morning tea with scones, jam and cream and tea or coffee, all served in the officers mess. It was pleasing to see that there was free on site parking, especially being so close to the city and plenty of volunteers to assist on the day. Make sure you book by appointment online. Pre book car parking on-site. Morning tea made and served by military nannas😊👵 served in the old officers mess. Scones were delicious. Tours run by volunteers who are knowledgeable and friendly. Tour takes about 3 hours including the morning tea. $15 tour fee is more than reasonable considering morning tea...
