These are two emails I sent to Grill'd....the response was very lacking, and my dining there very disappointing.
I've been enjoying Grill'd burgers for quite a while now as a diversion from those awful burgers served in MacDonald's and Hungry Jack. However, my last visit to Grill'd was extremely disappointing. You no longer serve the chips with herbs, but only plain salt. and use a cheaper type of meat, which tastes dry, and your buns are now slightly smaller. I understand there is a need for cost cutting, but doing it this way, you are simply going to lose customers such as me. Hi Alex
2.Thank you for your reply. Your email got me thinking; The Grill’d I complained about was the one at Carindale. I always eat there when I travel to Carindale so as to purchase specialty food at Coles there. It’s always been pretty good. This last time the food arrived at the table within a few minutes of me ordering it, which I thought was very strange, especially when it was lunch time and the place was fairly full. Also, when I noticed that the chips were different and only had been salted with plain salt, I looked around, and all the people around me had the same type of chips. The table besides mine had kids and the large serving of chips was spread out in the middle of the table so it was clear that there were no herbs. I live on Lamb Island and I eat at the Victoria Point Grill’d more often, so I will give them another try and see if what you...
Read more20.01.2025 - After a long day… Came in to Grill’d Carindale (just under half an hour before closing time), to order at the counter at 9:35pm and was refused. “We can’t take your order, we can’t cook the burgers because grill is turned off as we close in 15 minutes…” with an annoyed look on her face.
Please learn how to read time, do not lie to customers because you want to clean up early and look at them like they’re the stupid ones for wanting to order food, just under half an hour before closing time. Here, 9:35pm isn’t 15 minutes to 10pm, just very very bad.
If it was actually 15 minutes, it would be a tad more understanding, not 25 minutes and being lied to. Have not experienced this at other locations.
App: How does it work when there is an online/app order and you can still order through that up to 9:50pm (checked). Why cant the app process weekly deals At check out. This would solve issues, to be able to order a head of time and pick up. When ordering in store you can takeaway and not have to dine in, so what’s the difference?
We went to GyG next door with no issues afterwards and better customer service. will not bother with this...
Read moreCouldn’t recommend it unless you love grilld burgers.
Ambiance: Tragic, listless, and a flummoxed environment that leaves you craving a calmer cosier ambiance, one where workers feel supported and not being stretched to teach casuals, serve, do stock, and clean all at once.
Wait times a long and you either see waiters rushing around the store or the back room being overworked carrying tons of boxes, serving, cooking, and preparing all at the same time or just milling about (probably tired from being overworked). With a new burger joint opening up right near it, I fear Grilld might not have what it takes to stick it through. It also seems like there is never the appropriate amount of staff on vis a vis how busy it is.
Burger: The prices have gone up and the quantity has gone down. You wait so long for a burger that hardly fills you, or chips that are soggy and over seasoned.
Things I did like - the staff that served me were very nice and I was impressed by the ability to deal with the chaos of a restaurant whose management doesn’t seem to really...
