First time going today! Friend recommended say the food is good.
Face multiple issues, no coming back again!!
First I line up, with multiple group in front of me and my wife go see the food they display at the counter.. and the sales lady take her order which I thought we suppose line up first.. which ok then upon my turn, the cashier lady just keep calling the food order.. which I then say it’s not mine, didn’t ask about my order and just call the people behind me and ask me step aside! At this point, after finish that group, she call again the food order while looking at me, and still I say that is not mine! So I call my wife to come closer to tell them the order.. the only response I get is go and line up again at the back! The cashier is so dumb can’t even ask what is my order? The sales lady that takes my wife order was literally standing beside her, didn’t even voice out!! In addition, to all of this even your loyal customer base, don’t know what is the situation and just assume we cut line and told us to line up in a rude manner!!
Very rude all way round!!
Truly disappointed and ruin my...
Read moreHalf Time Food (圓緣園; previously Half Time Tea Bar) is the first business to open in the new semi-covered outdoor foodcourt area in Market Square. We visited the week it reopened in its new home after relocating 50m from the previous location beside Yuens. I'm not sure how much the menu has changed with the move and the smaller footprint, but there's still a decent range of items available, some cooked to order and the rest ready to eat/serve from a hot bar.
We ordered: sticky rice with mushroom and pork (香菇肉棕), $3.60 century egg porridge (皮蛋廋肉粥), $6.50 chicken sticky rice in lotus leaves (糯米鸡), $5 fried noodle (炒面), $6.90
I wouldn't particularly recommend the sticky rice dumpling - it's on the cheap side compared to some other ones I've had recently but flavour wise wasn't a match. Probably didn't help that it wasn't served hot, which I prefer and would reheat if I was eating at home.
The porridge was warming and the rest of the dishes made for a decent brunch for 2+1 at $22. I'll be back for sure but will miss being able to sit down in an enclosed indoor space to...
Read moreGreat Chinese style Taiwanese breakfast. Delicious hot snd sour soup, fried vermicelli, noodles, sticky rice, Chinese rice pancakes with various fillings, different Baos and dumplings. Wash it all down with hot or cold soy milk, almond milk or various types of bubble teas.
Comes with lots of vegan and vegetarian options too. Freshly fried dough fritters, '油条', to go with your rice porridge. Yum! Brings back fond memories of my visit to Taiwan. Please remember to inform the ladies at the counter about your allergies before you...
