Nice location on newstead road, quiet and cool, even on the weekend. Young and pleasant staff. No table service, order and pay before you seat, which I prefer so that I can just get up and leave once I am done. There are seats outside which I wouldn't bother with due to cars going passed and the heat. Inside there is limited seating options, but it is cooler and wasn't that loud. I didn't try any of the cooked food, but it did look nice from what I could see. I ordered a croissant and a slice of cheesecake. Both lacked freshness, most likely leftovers from the previous day. I took the cheesecake back and asked for a fresh slice and a little zip in the microwave, which they very politely obliged. This made all the difference and was quite delicious. The coffee however was excellent. Order was correct, I like it extra hot and they didn't burn it or make it too hot to touch. Came quick and as most campos coffee establishments, was premium. Would go back for the coffee and to try some of their...
Read moreThis morning My husband and I got a sausage roll and eggsbeni.
The sausage roll looked amazing in display, but when it came out it was very clear it had been microwaved.. which using even a semblance of commonsense will tell you will make the pastry soggy and tough. It of course did. If I as a customer know that, how does a chef not know that? Obviously he does, he just doesnt care.
I was in a hurry. I asked the waitress for a refund after 1 bite, she offered to have one put in the oven. I declined because any cafe that was ok with microwaving ANYTHING tells me what they think about the customer and what they value their food at. I was not interested
However the waitress was very very nice.. and suppied the refund promptly.
The beni was undercooked and the coffees were honestly gross.
Will not be returning and...
Read moreOne of my favorite places to go for a take-away coffee or a casual lunch. Its an odd location, being in the Windsor homezone, but surprisingly lovely setting inside. The service is always very friendly, and the iced mocha or coffees are a must - the perfect mix of blended ice, ice-cream, coffee & chocolate. The toasted blue-berry banana bread is also a favourite of mine. The place can get pretty busy over lunch and around after-school pick-up, but since they opened they seem to have sorted out their kitchen a bit and are relatively timely with food delivery. Don't be in a huge rush though as their new POS system seems to have slowed down the counter ordering a lot - and the kitchen can still take a little while over the busy periods. Coffees are usually super-quick even during peak periods so great for a...
