We had dinner at this restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year (eve) on the 28th of January 2025. We ordered 4 dishes: Tamarind sauce fried fish, beef salad, raw prawn salad, and chilli lime sauce whole squid. They were absolutely divine! We are still thinking about the food and how flavoursome they were.

But we do have a couple of comments. First: About the steamed rice. We ordered 4 serves of steamed rice but they gave us one medium size bowl of steamed rice which hardly looked like 4 serves because the rice was like just half of that smallish medium bowl, most definitely not enough for 4 people. Why couldn't they give us 4 separately serves of steamed rice which we were paying $3.50 per serve anyway? Should we order 1 bowl first, re-order a 2nd bowl 2 minutes later etc, just so we can get a full bowl per serve? We could have done that had we known we would be short-changed. But we would prefer for them to be honest and serve us the right amount. We had been there once before and we had seen how much a serve of steamed rice looked like. Anyway, as a result, we had to order another two serves, which looked about the right amount... but the first 4-serve rice was not much. So it was a bit of a rip-off we reckon.

Second comment: It was very difficult to get the staff attention. They spent too much time cleaning up the table and as a result, they failed to notice us waving a few times (like we were in a classroom) trying to get their attention. So 3-star for service. Don't worry. we will be back because food is good. But hopefully they can improve on the service, and the rice serving. We frequent a lot of Asian restaurant, so we know the quantity size of a...

We've visited this place for dinner on a Saturday evening. We've ordered three dishes and four sricky rice. This is with the intention to share. The food that we've ordered were: Crispy pork Gailan. Delicious prices of pork cooked with gailan. Savoury and tasty. You have to eat this quickly as the sauce will reduce the crispiness of the pork. Perfectly seasoned and freshly cooked Gailan. Chu chee soft shell crad. The softshell crabs were cooked with curry. Like the crispy pork, you better be quick if you want to enjoy the crispiness of the softshell crabs. However, the curry sauce complimented the crabs well. It was creamy and went well with the sticky rice. SomTum Chicken (chicken with papaya salad). We've opted to have the option with the anchovies sauce on our papaya salad. We've asked for spice level 1 (gentle spice). Nice fresh papaya. The anchovy sauce blended well the ingredients. The chicken was tender and went well with the salad. The other option for the papaya salad that you can ask is the one that taste sweet and salty (as per the staff). Overall the experience was good. Food tasted good and good services from the staff. The place was busy and a bit noisy. But the noise didn't bother us (just put it there so you know). It gave a sense of dining in an asian...

My family and I visited Lert Rod Thai Restaurant and Bar on a bustling Saturday night, and it was a delightful experience overall. Knowing it’s a popular spot, we booked early, which was a smart move as the place was packed. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff handled the crowd with impressive efficiency. Service was remarkably fast—our meals arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was a highlight, bursting with authentic Thai flavours. The vegetarian spring rolls were crispy and fresh, a great start - so hot my daughter burnt her tongue on the first bite! The green chicken curry packed a spicy punch, but delicious. The chicken and cashew dish was a standout, loaded with vibrant, fresh vegetables that added great texture and flavour. The chicken noodle dish was equally satisfying, with a well-balanced, savoury taste that everyone enjoyed. The only downside was the parking situation at the shopping centre. It was a nightmare, with no spots available, forcing us to circle for 20 minutes before finally snagging a space. If you’re planning a visit, arrive early or consider alternative transport or park in a side street. Overall, Lert Rod Thai delivered fantastic food and speedy service, making it a great choice for a family night out. Just be prepared for a...

Yum yum yum. The food here was great, the service was reasonable, and the atmosphere is definitely quite vibrant and happy. We came here for dinner one night and had a decent meal! We ordered the money bags, which came with a sweet chilli sauce. They were good but didn’t blow us away. Then, we got the duck with rice. This was great in terms of flavour and texture. The duck was cooked well and portion sizes were good. Finally, the pad Thai! This was great. Perfect blend of tastes and textures; we just wish there was more of it!! I’d definitely recommend. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Would like to try more from here! If you’re coming at night though, it does get quite busy so it’s best to book!

I've visited this Thai restaurant 3 times now. Food quality of Thai raw Prawns Salad was good. But the ox tongue was half good half too chewy. The Gai Lan oyster sauce vegetable was too old too much dietary fibres. Besides, that Tamarid sauce (tastes ike sweet Soy sauce) was yummy, but I think the way they cook that Tiger Prawns was not the best way to present the Tiger Prawns freshness & succulent flesh to the customers. The prawns were butterflied and crumbed , then qoated with Tamarind sauce. The natural tenderness and its juice of seafood has been over-cooked,and overpowered by that strong flavourful sauce. Another Thai Restaurant on the Gold Coast also serves Raw Prawns dish is in Bundall.
