We decided to have lunch in this new Thai restaurant on Oxford Street, Bulimba.

Our first impression was the friendly welcome and the lovely Thai inspired decor.

We ordered the beef curry puffs, crispy soft shell crab, pork bao buns and Thai beef salad, to share between two of us. Three entrees and the salad were ample, and everything was fresh and delicious. Our favourites were the soft shell crab which - for an entree - was very generous. The beef salad - which we ordered medium heat - was extremely flavoursome. Definitely not lacking in spice and aromatics. The beef was so tender that you could cut it with the edge of a spoon, and all of the salad ingredients were super fresh and crunchy.

It is not licensed, so BYO only. We did not bring any wine, but a previous review said that they do not charge corkage. If you are caught short, the pub and bottle shop are only 300m away.

We will definitely be making Mahanakhon one of our regular local lunch or...

It’s okay. The Pad Eee Ew had too much white pepper in it so that over dominated the dish, and the noodles weren’t stir fried long enough so they were soggy and not sticky with a nice texture. The Chicken Cashew was nice with fresh and good variety of vegetables in it.

The restaurant itself is small which is fine but felt crowded with all the odd decorations which were covered in dust. Finer details like hiding power cords, opening the space, cleaning decorations and adjusting the lighting would make this place more inviting.

The water served tasted earthy, which combined with the overly crowded space, and dusty decorations, didn’t create the best perspective. In my head I started to paint an image of this place being “unhygienic”.

With the above said, I don’t think we will return any time soon or maybe we’ll try other items and order take away only as sitting in didn’t create the best...

The name of the restaurant speaks for itself. A small, cozy restaurant that serves authentic Thai food . The service was attentive and delightful all throughout our dinner. We came with my family all across from Northside as recommended by my son, who resides locally. The food was unbelievable, full of flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this place. The restaurant has a welcoming and warm atmosphere. We basically ordered a feast at this beautiful restaurant. W3 had soft-shell crab, fried tofu, soft-shell crab bao, chicken satay sticks, fried chicken wings, and coconut prawns For mains, we had the duck curry, massaman beef, pad klang chicken, chicken lamb, pork cashew stir fry, and pork with pad kanar moo grob. Food was flavoursome, and every bite was mind-blowing. The food was phenomenal and jaw-dropping. I definitely recommend and will be coming back for...

We had such a good time here!! Honestly, we have tried many times in many other Thai restaurants but we may not have been very lucky until now when we found this lovely cozy corner of Thai street food one. We ordered prawn dumplings, whole fish curry and beef hot pot together with coconut rice. They came in generous size and tasted fresh and delicious. My husband rarely likes to eat fish but I could see how much he had enjoyed eating the fish here. For the drink, we had yummy Thai milk tea and a fresh coconut with plenty of juice in it. Last but not least, we were welcomed and served by lovely and caring staff, who were gentle, helpful and professional. I would strongly recommend this place and definitely will come back on my next visit to Brisbane.
