However, the ordering process was a bit slow; I waited around five minutes to be served, even though the staff was friendly. I also ordered a pasta salad, and after a long bike ride, it really hit the spot and boosted my mood. While the location served its purpose as a good stopping point in Bowen Hills, I probably wouldn't make a special trip to return. * Coffee: Consistent, reliable roast. We're stopping by today for a brunch. I've ordered ham and cheese croissants, which was really good. My partner got a chicken burger. I have large, flat white coffee and a large ice coffee. The croissants were really nice, thank goodness they didn't microwave it. On the other note, my partners chicken in the burger was raw. Had to return it, and someone came to our table and apologised, and we're offered a refund, but we just ask for a bowl or chips instead. Went to pay, and we were told that our entire meal was free. Made our day, and we will definitely be back as we love our Merlo coffee. Thank you to the staff's and the boss.

Merlo are seriously the best. Im speaking mainly about the beans and the website primarily but in general, just an all round really great service. I order beans monthly online (Colombia single origin 👌) and they arrive next day. Every time! Can't beat that kind of efficient service. Love the bean dollars point system, and they often throw in different beans to try and other treats which is wonderful. Purchased my hubby one of the reusable cups too and he raves about how it stays hot for hours! Keep up the good work guys. I tell everyone who will listen about Merlo 😂

I have been a loyal customer ever since I had a stove top and then buying a Giotto Rocket in 2012 at the Valley store. I used to purchase three kilograms of whole beans all through Covid so I have a strong love for Merlo. The last couple of times I have purchased whole beans at Bowen Hills, the roasted date is more than a week old. When I bought the last batch on 11 June, the roasted date was 3 June…eight days earlier. I remember fondly how the roasted date was a day before purchasing them. Is Merlo roasting too many beans? Am I buying them on a wrong day?

When I notified Louisa at Bowen Hills of this, she listened, welcomed the feedback and then, shock, horror, took it upon herself to provide a sensational rectification. She engaged with me, wanted to know more and offered some suitable reasons for this discrepancy. Louisa and the team are rock stars. I can't wait to return and keep buying a top-quality product. Everything about this place, is perfect! 5 star on all areas! We went for breakfast and only being open for 2 days; its running like a well oiled machine! I ordered a great dish! That I can only remember started with a Q? It came with two fried eggs, slices of spicy chill & a wonderful sauce, I cannot wait! To visit for breakfast or brunch again!
