Customer Service: 4/5 - The lady who greeted us upon our arrival (blonde with glasses) was welcoming, friendly, and demonstrated an impressive knowledge about coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed our enlightening discussions about their coffee beans. However, not all staff members exhibited the same proficiency. When I went to the cashier to request a small sample of coffee beans for a cold brew, I was left waiting as no one was present. Another staff member kept passing by without acknowledging my presence. Even a simple ā€œI’ll be with you in a secondā€ would have been appreciated. In the end, I didn’t get the sample, which is perfectly okay, but the lack of attention was noticeable. Coffee Quality: 5/5 - The way our coffee was served was a treat. We ordered two V60s - one with Organic coffee beans and the other with Arlee Reserve. They kindly provided four cups, each marked with the initials of the respective beans, enabling both my wife and I to sample each variety. The coffee was perfectly extracted and stayed true to its description. However, the promised orange note in the Organic blend was very subtle, making it hard to discern. The Arlee, on the other hand, offered a pleasant sweetness with no hint of bitterness. I typically relish the aroma of a V60, but found this aspect lacking here. I recommend the cafe consider introducing more aromatic coffee beans into their selection. I also appreciate the cafe serving their award-winning Champion coffee beans. Cleanliness: 5/5 - The place was spotless, demonstrating that food safety is clearly a priority for the chef. Vibe: 5/5 - This is a wonderful cafe, offering plenty of seating options. The visible coffee beans and equipment contribute to an exciting atmosphere that gets you energized for the day. Price: Average - The pricing here is standard, offering good value for the quality provided. In conclusion, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this cafe for its commendable coffee and positive environment. I look forward to seeing whether they take the opportunity to enhance their service and aroma of their coffee.

*UPDATE* An update to my original review from a few months ago. The Coffee Commune changed food vendors since my original post - during which the ordering from a QR code was removed, which is unfortunate as it was one of the best features. I did prefer the previous menu/food offerings - the servings are very large - some smaller (and healthy!) options would be very welcome. The staff are SO super nice and helpful, but the owner's public comments about a recent health mandate have really made me think twice about feeling safe visiting this venue in the future - reflected in my experiences regularly visiting this cafe (eg I've never heard staff ask if people have checked in, and the staff often incorrectly wearing masks or not at all (when they were previously required)). What a wonderful cafe in Bowen Hills! As others have noted, the staff couldn't be nicer and honestly the most attentive service from a cafe I've had all year. You can seat yourself at any available table, order and pay from a QR code, or from the counter. I tried the omelette and it was very generous and incredibly tasty. My oat flat white was good, and hot (why is this so hard to get in Brisbane!?)! I set up with my laptop after breakfast and it was a dream being able to order more coffee via the QR menu without having to get up - perfect for solo diners. Can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu!

Sign of a great coffee isn't how it showed up on your table, it's what's left after you've enjoyed every sip. This place is the perfect spot for a great coffee, chit chat, and food to go with it. There's no pictures of food that can make for the great taste. The best tasting toast made perfectly for eating with eggs ( I loved that I didn't have to fight with my knife and toast😊 ). I'll be back to try more as the service and atmosphere are unbeatable. The Brownie Chocolate coffee a limited edition, so am having as many as I can while it lasts till I find a new favourite. Grab a bag of any beans on your way out - just ask the super friendly and enthusiastic Baristas and staff for their picks based on your taste buds. ( If you have a Dad joke, try it on them as they love having a banter ). You will be amazed. I even sent some to family and friends in Sydney, that's how good the beans are here. Why wait?. Come see for yourself why this is my new favourite Cafe in all of Brisbane ( having become a recent permanent resident of the Sunshine state ).

Great selection of coffee beans, food and drinks. The service is just so hit and miss. I’ve done three online orders this week just for coffee. The first order, I waited in store for over 10 mins, even after the order was placed 5mins before I arrived. No SMS received when my order was ready, they just called my name. The second order I placed 8mins out in the hope it wouldn’t take as long when I arrived. I waited at the counter and watched 2 walkins order and get their coffee before me. I asked the Barista if mine was ready and gave him my name. It was on the counter the entire time. No SMS received to say the order was ready. My 3rd order today was placed when I was 6mins away. There were two customers waiting at the coffee collection counter when I walked in, one was yet to place her order. I waited 10mins, became frustrated and the barista handed me my coffee that was sitting on top of the machine. Sad to say it was again ready and I was waiting around for no reason. Same as the previous 2 orders, no SMS received to say the order was ready.

For such a large place with so many staff walking around, I struggle to understand why the excessive wait time for just coffee. Especially when there are minimal people waiting. When you order online it says you will get an SMS to say when it’s ready, this hasn’t...
