Below is what I wrote 2 years ago... we have not been here for a while, as we moved, and our last visit was terrible... the food was very good however for $5 extra for sourdough we got 2 slices of bread that look like they just grabbed from the supermarket... the service was terrible... we ordered a jug of beer with 3 glasses and they were all dirty and had lipstick... I took them back to the bar and the replacement 3 were also dirty and had lipstick... they then tried to clean them with the postmix water and a rag and gave them back to me with water in the bottom... on the 7th glass the manager came over and asked what was wrong... I told her and she told me, in a very sarcastic voice, that there is no way and insinuated I was lying... I grabbed a glass from the glass tray and showed her... this has lipstick, and the next one and the next one... the one after was just very dirty... she went through 3 or 4 as well and they were all dirty and/or had lipstick... she put the lot back for washing and started to check the next stack which were also not properly clean... she "polished" up 3 for us which was then fine... clean glasses with no lipstick is not a big ask... then getting the table cleaned was near impossible... we even stacked everything for them to make it easy but no one took our empty entree plates... when our mains started to arrive I asked if the waiter could remove the dirty plates before bringing out the next meal... I was told it would be done after the main meals came out... I told her there was not enough room on the table and could the dirty dishes be removed before the mains and she told me that it was not her section and not her job... I think she could tell by the look on my face how shocked I was by that comment and took the dirty dishes... getting glasses cleared was even worse... everything had to be ordered through a QR code, which I HATE, and you would think when you put down new drinks you take the empty glasses... no... by the end of the night the 5 of us had 15 empty glasses on the table while we sat and chatted... we may have ordered another round but by this point we were over it... see photo... we talked The Morrison up to our friends we took and have told so many people that they have to go here but not anymore and we were very embarrassed by the experience... we won't be coming back any time soon, sadly! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7 STARS... I hadn't been to The Morrison in years and had low expectations however everything was AMAZING... the service was excellent and the food and drinks were excellent... the best feed I have had in a long time... there were 3 of us and there were so many great things on the menu we decided to share 5 or 6 items... the garlic pizza was the best I have ever had and I have had a lot all over the world... the wood over fried camembert was out of this world... I can't wait to go back!

We had a family gathering here and practically everyone ordered steak - rib fillet, Wagyu, fillet mignon and porterhouse. Someone was heard saying "I didn't expect it to be this pleasant". The sign claims they serve Brisbane's best steaks. The group consensus was that 'best' is a very big call, but they were very good steaks. One of the highlights was the double-baked potatoes. When ordering a steak there is a choice of hot chips or double-baked potatoes. Personally, I tried the battered fish and chips. It was tasty and a generous serve. The salad it came with was lovely - greens, shredded veggies and a sweet tangy vinaigrette. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was only one glitch which happened at the bar. After ordering 5 or 6 drinks, I asked for a tray to carry them all. The guy grabbed a dirty tray out of the sink, shook it, and handed it over with crumbs and all. It was easier to make two trips. The decor has many vintage nudes and bare bottoms all around, so I skipped the photos of those. You will have to check those out for yourself šŸ˜†.

I was introduced to Fiasco's about 7 years ago now and I've been a frequent diner since. But it's not the steaks that have me coming back.. It's the sauce! The mushroom sauce is divine. Sure I can make it at home, but it's just not the same. Service is good, wait times can be quite busy during busy dinner periods and the steaks can be hit or miss in terms of being cooked to the right rareness. Overall I do enjoy dining at Fiasco's and I'll keep coming back for that sauce. Edit: I’ve been back a few more times since this review and I’m disappointed to say the least. Service is still good and the sauce is always glorious. But the quality of steaks and how they are cooked have declined. If you’re paying top dollar for a ā€œpremium cutā€ then you expect quality. I recently visited and ordered a MEDIUM cooked steak and look at how it was cooked. This isn’t the only time, previous visits have been the same quality. Steaks have been dry and don’t have that juiciness or flavour like they used to.

Dear Management Team of Morrison Hotel,

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit to your establishment. I have been a loyal customer of Morrison Hotel for more than 10 years and have always enjoyed the food and service. However, my recent experience today was far from satisfactory.

During my visit, I placed an order for a few dishes, but unfortunately, the waitress that took our order did not write it down. Consequently, one of the orders was served incorrectly. When I discussed the problem with my order to the supervisor I was surprised to see both the waitress and the person in the kitchen, laughing at me and my wife. This was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful towards me as a customer.

As someone who has been coming to your restaurant for many years, I was extremely disappointed by this experience. It is not the level of service that I have come to expect from Morrison Hotel. I believe that customers should be treated with respect and empathy, especially when it comes to providing feedback on the service they have received.

I hope that you take my feedback seriously and address the issues that I have highlighted. As a loyal customer, I would appreciate it if you could take steps to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. I would like to continue dining at Morrison Hotel in the future, but I hope that my next experience will be a more positive one.

Thank you for taking the time to read my email, and I look forward to hearing back...

I’m not sure if the QR code system is working in the Morrison’s favour. We went there Wednesday night for my partner’s birthday. Ordered a starter, 2 drinks and 2 steaks. The starters and 2 drinks came within 10/15 minutes, all was well. Then about 30 minutes later the manager appeared and told us there was a mix up in the kitchen and that our order hadn’t come through and that he had resubmitted the order and it wouldn’t be long, he also gave us a complimentary drink. Fast forward another 40 minutes, still no steaks, I had to chase it up with a member of staff and exactly 1.5 hours after we placed the initial order our steaks arrived. People who had ordered before us were still waiting, there were so many hungry and annoyed people that night. I felt like the staff were trying their hardest but overall it’s the fault of the system. I would say it was a once off only we also ate there about a month ago and towards the end of the night when the restaurant was practically empty I ordered a dessert after our meal using the QR code and was waiting 30 minutes for a dessert in an empty restaurant, having to chase it up with staff again. There are clearly inherent issues with the QR ordering system not being conveyed to the kitchen (they blamed a printer error the other night), but I think they may be safer to go back to the old pen and paper order method. Food was good when it appeared but not worth waiting...
