Note. One of the staff abused me asked to leave/ go home just 3 weeks after my son’s diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. I was in the hurry to go back to the hospital (my son was in the treatment at that time) and she catch me in the lift without checking my details she told me that i should go home so someone else can use the room. I was shocked. I gave my room number and told her that I in the hurry and will be back to speak with her soon. With tears i came back and see her, I told her i will pay for the accommodation as I really needed as this RMH closed to the hospital. My heart is broken. and she said don’t worry about it all good, no pressure. WITHOUT APOLOGY. I guess She checked my details after I gave my room number. Very disappointed really as some of the staff are very lovely....

Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane provides a vital place to stay close to the hospital, and I want to extend my gratitude for that.

While the furniture, particularly the mattresses, was slightly lumpy and uncomfortable, the periods of rest were often too brief to be truly restful anyway.

The location directly opposite the hospital made it easy to transition back and forth at all hours, which was incredibly helpful during such a challenging time.

I appreciated the access to donated food, snacks, drinks, and light meals, knowing they were available if ever the need arose. Additionally, the coffee stations on each floor were well-maintained by the staff.

Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Good facilities. Helpful things like volunteers putting on free dinner once a week, breakfast on Sundays, and morning teas. Often tickets for shows are donated to the house for guests to use, eg. circus at Convention Centre. Free ferry rides just down the road. Right next to southern end of Southbank. Woollworths about 10 minute walk away. Lady Cilento Hospital is right across the road. Downside is that rooms are not serviced, and you have to wash your own towels and linen while staying there. Has a few free parking spaces available, but not enough for everyone. Has nice common areas and outdoor play area. Washing machine and dryer $4.50 each per use, but clothesline...
