New management seems nice and friendly enough. But the product they sell is definitely a long way off the old owner's. Have tried my old go to pies (Steak bacon cheese and steak & bacon) and they feel a bit empty. Tried a Chunky Steak pie the other day - had maybe 3 bite sizes of steak. Kind of feel like this place is serving a fresher version of Mrs Macs. I won't say avoid, but this place is nothing special. Edit 2/Nov/2018: increased from 2 to 4 stars - steak and bacon pie had a good amount of filling and texture. While the pastry was nice it was a bit sweeter compared to the Muzzas pies from a few years ago and I have to wonder if they are using more sugar to enhance the flavour. Definitely better than my Mrs Mac's comparison earlier in the year. Edit 25/May/2019: increased to 5 stars after going there a couple of times in the last week. Pies consistently enjoyable. Couple of their desert slices were good (Afghan and hedgehog). Italian sausage roll was great - good flavour, no chunks of grissle. Nice staff. Highly recommended. Up there with Fernvale and Woodford bakeries...

Unfortunately an underwhelming couple of pies 🥧

Flavour - 1/10 No flavour distinction between a Steak & cheese pie and a Chicken & Mushroom pie. Lacked seasoning on meat and gravy components.

Filling - 2/10 The combination of meat and gravy for both pies was a weird texture and lacked seasoning/flavour.

Crust - 4/10 Top crust was great texture and flakiness. The bottom was slightly overcooked.

Eatability - 2/10 Pie did not hold after first bite - burst out the top/side. Too much filling which wouldn't be a bad thing if the filling tasted good.

Overall Pie Rating - 2/10 I'm not sure the outcome would be any different if I tried any of their other pies. The representation of pie is below average or less than a Four'n'Twenty pie from a servo or 7-11 in the...

I love coming to muzzas. they have an awesome selection of meat and veg pies as well as delicious deserts and sandwiches. the pies have flaky pastry and beautiful fillings, always exactly what you’re looking for. the sandwiches are made with fresh bakery bread that tastes sooo good, and the egg and lettuce has juicy, crispy pieces of lettuce with substance. all their food really hits the spot. you can also pick up frozen savoury and sweet pies in both small and family sizes, which I love. my next party is going to be fed by muzzas pies for sure! this review is a bit gushing but only because muzzas is seriously an institution. I can’t visit the area without getting a pie and...

Went on a little pie crawl and our first stop was Muzza's (Gourmet) Pies in Coorparoo. Their best sellers are reportedly the various chunky steak options, but we were also recommended the chicken, brie & asparagus pie ($6), and that's what we went with. The boy wanted a party pie ($2) so we got one of those too. Verdict: kinda wished we went with a chunky steak option instead, cos this chicken pie, whilst an ok choice, wasn't a real standout. The brie wasn't too obvious, but then again I guess it's not a strong cheese to begin with. The pastry itself was pretty good - flaky top and sides/base not too dense. With all pies at $6 or less, I'd be happy to return and try some other flavours.

Really 4.5 stars. I don't give 5 stars easily Muzza left some years back but passed the torch to the current baker who has kept the gourmet flame burning. I must say that the pastry is outstanding. There seems to be about 25 different kinds of pies. Today it was chicken and mushroom was was good but my fave so far is tandoori chicken. For me it must be washed down with a Bundy ginger beer. I hear the sausages roils are special but so far I can't go past the pies. The pies are $7 a throw so you would expect a quality article. The service is very friendly and I would walk an extra kilometer to get a Muzza pie.

Good pies seem to be really hard to find in Brisbane but the pastry used here is fabulously flaky. The mince/cheese and cheese/steak are a hit in this household but for me, the chicken and mushroom wins every time. The broccoli and cauliflower triangles are so good too - they may sound odd but are so enjoyable. Yum. I also like that you can buy frozen pies for $3.00 and packs of pasties or sausage rolls for $5 too they make for a low effort dinner or delicious snack.
