Origin Kebabs Carindale — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Food tends to be pretty good but the service is atrocious. My last three visits ensure I’ll probably never shop at this location again.

First time, they give me the complete wrong order. Takes a bit of arguing and I eventually get the correct food.

Second time, I purchase a drink with my food. They give me the meal but no drink. When I ask for my drink (which I can see sitting beside the register) I am told I never paid for one (paid 5 freaking dollars!). I have to get up my bank account and show how much I paid to get the drink and she tells me “I’ll give you a drink this time but next time we need more proof”. As if the amount I paid (kebab plus drink) wasn’t proof enough??

And then today, I had a 30 minute lunch break and decided to get a small snack pack as their line was quite short compared to other shops. I’m told there’s a 6-8 minute wait on chips for it. I said that wasn’t a problem. I then wait nearly 20 minutes for my food, watching as people who ordered after me (3 of which were snack packs too) get their food before me. I watch as she starts to make my meal, only to give the chips to another woman who has just stepped up and ordered chips on their own (waited less than a minute before she is handed the chips).

At this point I step forward and ask her when I’m going to get my meal as I’ve waited three times the time frame she gave me. I’m told “I’m making it now”. I said to her that she’s had the chips and ingredients to make my meal 4 times over but they’ve given it to those served after me, and I asked why I was forced to wait when I should’ve been served my food earlier. All I’m told (repeatedly) is “but I’m making it now.”

This doesn’t matter when I’ve wasted nearly my entire break waiting for food that I should’ve received far sooner than I did. Additionally, I heard what others ordered, and like I said, my nearly exact meal (minus one sauce) was ordered by two others after me and yet they received it first. It was not a case of them not seeing me, as she made eye contact with me multiple times while handing out these other orders.

Utterly ridiculous and totally horrendous...

Beside the delightful lady-shaped chicken and salad kebab, my girlfriend opted for a vegetarian wrap that proved to be equally impressive. Bursting with an array of vibrant vegetables, the vegetarian wrap was a symphony of flavors that delighted her taste buds. Each bite brought an explosion of freshness, with the medley of vegetables complemented by a delectable sauce, all perfectly encased in a soft, warm wrap. As we savored our respective meals, our shared enthusiasm for the scrumptious food deepened our connection. The eatery became a cherished place for us, where we could revel in the culinary delights that satisfied both our preferences. This shared experience of savoring the delicious kebab and vegetarian wrap created unforgettable memories that we will undoubtedly cherish for...

I had a great experience at Origin Kebab in Carindale—the food was absolutely delicious, especially the mixed kebab, which was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The staff were super friendly and efficient, making the service quick and enjoyable. I also appreciated how clean and well-maintained the shop was; you could tell hygiene is a priority here. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable dining in or grabbing takeaway. After my meal, I couldn’t help but think of how amazing it would be to finish with some of Dubai’s finest chocolates like Mirzam or Bateel—rich, smooth, and perfect for a sweet treat.
