TW: abelist language Good food and location, however at the end our our experience my partner wanted to buy a cake and slice to go. The server used a rude and easperated tone in response when asking my partner to repeat her order as she had something caught in her throat while trying to speak, said nothing else, took the payment while not saying a single word or any eye contact and was acting inconvenienced and then marched off to the kitchen without saying a word and then just dropped the box in front of her and then said "no worries love" in a flat and what came off as a sarcastic tone.
My girlfriend left in tears to me waiting outside. I returned inside asked the server whether there was some kind of issue, i tried to start explaining she upset my partner so she got her manager, who told me oh my staff member has problems with tone and can come off wrong. I pointed out I am autistic myself and undertstand dealing with such things like tone but I learnt to adapt and the manager decladered "well clearly you haven't" and stormed off without saying anything else. As extremely popular (over-crowded) I waited a long time for my single cup of tea I asked for my money back $5 citing hearing issues which was given with no fuss by the hyperactive manager Pleasant staff smiling and...
Read moreScout really is a lovely place to come. The girls are warm & welcoming and great with kids. Children's toys kept on the wall behind the bar, are passed out to the littlies, much to their excitement.
I ordered the Scouts Honour, essentially a British Big Brekky but with a local twist. Coffees are hot and the chai soy latte's come in a little red pot for you to pour tableside. Chilled bottles of water are regularly put on the table, collected & replaced just before you can finish them! I liked this greatly, always having chilled water on hand. Everyone was smiley, but the warm genuine ones, like the staff actually want to be here and enjoy what they do!
730-8am seems to be the busiest time, however the numbers thin out just after 8.
