TW: abelist language Good food and location, however at the end our our experience my partner wanted to buy a cake and slice to go. The server used a rude and easperated tone in response when asking my partner to repeat her order as she had something caught in her throat while trying to speak, said nothing else, took the payment while not saying a single word or any eye contact and was acting inconvenienced and then marched off to the kitchen without saying a word and then just dropped the box in front of her and then said "no worries love" in a flat and what came off as a sarcastic tone. My girlfriend left in tears to me waiting outside. I returned inside asked the server whether there was some kind of issue, i tried to start explaining she upset my partner so she got her manager, who told me oh my staff member has problems with tone and can come off wrong. I pointed out I am autistic myself and undertstand dealing with such things like tone but I learnt to adapt and the manager decladered "well clearly you haven't" and stormed off without saying anything else. Further, I was the customer, I am not the one who is working in your cafe. I would not have expected abelist comments like that from a cafe that purports to be progressive.

Scout really is a lovely place to come. The girls are warm & welcoming and great with kids. Children's toys kept on the wall behind the bar, are passed out to the littlies, much to their excitement. I ordered the Scouts Honour, essentially a British Big Brekky but with a local twist. Coffees are hot and the chai soy latte's come in a little red pot for you to pour tableside. Chilled bottles of water are regularly put on the table, collected & replaced just before you can finish them! I liked this greatly, always having chilled water on hand. Everyone was smiley, but the warm genuine ones, like the staff actually want to be here and enjoy what they do! 730-8am seems to be the busiest time, however the numbers thin out just after 8. Local paramedics stop for takeaway coffee and brekky rolls on the run.

Lovely place to sit, eat and spend a few hours. They have a bottomless coffee option for an extra $2 on top of the $5 coffee. The quality of the drip coffee is very good. Bagels were excellent and dietary requirements can be accommodated easily. We had the cheesy broccoli bagel and the chicken bagel with no cheese. Both were really excellent and delicious Service is very good, owner is extremely kind and welcoming and all staff are lovely. You always feel attended to. 2 bagels and 2 coffees (one of them unlimited) came to c. $48 so not too expensive either In a lovely peaceful and pretty location too, liked the vibe and decor a lot as well as surrounding. They DO have a bathroom, it's just you have to go around the back, but it's clean, well maintained and pleasant.

Not for me - needed a quiet place to read and have a cup of tea and relax but it was the opposite of comfortable A fellow wearing head to toe black outside as I entered the door sneezed violently and his poet like friend kept earnestly making eye contact. I wanted to laugh but very serious people ☺️ Noise levels deafening so I moved to a different spot which was worse - tiresome jazz music plus twenty people inside on a 32 degree day gave me a true introverts’ conniptions Uncomfortable stools that had a strange uneven top with one side higher than the other You will not relax here ! As extremely popular (over-crowded) I waited a long time for my single cup of tea I asked for my money back $5 citing hearing issues which was given with no fuss by the hyperactive manager Pleasant staff smiling and...
