Sue's Burgers and Shakes — Restaurant in Brisbane City

My wife and I ordered two drinks to take away. The venue was practically empty and it was also well staffed in terms of numbers. Unfortunately, the team on appeared not to make much of an effort and our drinks sat on the bench half completed melting and accumulating condensation on the outside of the cups while they talked and laughed, and did not appear to have any meaningful work ethic.

After some time watching this we decided we would get drinks from another venue instead and my wife asked for a refund given we had been waiting a long time now for what is a rudimentary task, especially with an almost empty shop. If they were flat out busy and understaffed, it would have been completely understandable, but it was not.

Everything was fine, and we just wanted to move on with our day (hence requesting a refund and deciding that it was better to go elsewhere).

A staff member responded incredibly rudely and said in a condescending tone, "Is it the order for K.... its coming up now". She then turned her back to my wife and put lids on the half melted drinks. While doing so she rolled her eyes at my wife (of which I watched). She then said nothing and held out the drinks. This was her response to a request for a refund.

Now my wife and I are not ones to waste food, ever. It is how we were brought up so we accepted the drinks (having paid for them and to their credit they tasted fine, even if they had been sitting there for a while).

This all could have been solved with a polite, its my fault, I forgot to put the lids on your drinks. Here they are, apologies my friends and I got caught up talking as I had thought we had completed all our orders (or similar). Instead, it was a rude, condescending response coupled with...

Went Friday afternoon, I ordered the Mac to the Future put with the vegetarian paddy (not the beef) with a side of fries. My friend had the same but with the beef paddy and Sue's freaky fries (though, it's practically a main). The veg paddy tasted soooo beefy, literally had to consult with my friend whether they got my order mixed up haha but no, it just tastes like beef; donno what it's made from but was so "meaty" and delicious. The paddy was thinner then the normal beef paddy, but still moist and full of flavor. The burger buns were soft & warm, the Sue's special sauce tastes similar to the Big Mac sauce, so again, delicious. The seasoned fries were hot and crunchy, not too skinny or thick; the "seasoning" was just salt (from what I could tell). To accompany the food I had the Malteaser thickshake, it definitely had the Malteaser flavor and was velvety, creamy and was a nice combo with the salty greasy food. Just wish they garnished the shake with whole Malteaser balls on top instead of shaven over the whipped cream. Wanted to order another one afterwalds. The service was great, met us at the front entrance and told us to sit anywhere (it was pretty quiet with lots of tables to choose) so we sat in the booth. Went up to order and was so happy they were able to accommodate my request to replace the beef paddy with a veg one. A gentleman checked on our meals midway through and after offered us two large moistened towelettes. Move over KFC wet wipes, these were large, really good quality wipes, was a nice way to finish off the meal. Definitely enjoyed my experience, don't know how the service would be during peak times, but 3pm on a Friday was great for us,...

Food was amazing, however the service was shocking as well as the turn over of tables. We got told there was a wait list, to which a blonde girl was making phone calls to them and got no response crossing there names off the list leaving tables then free. We waited in line for at least 20 min while there was more than 5 tables free before a sign went up saying 1 hour wait. Was rudely asked if we were willing to wait this long, so we got take away instead. During this wait for our order shortly after placing this, they then started seating walk ins as there was more than enough tables free for this. We sat down at a table that was free while waiting for our food as well as another couple did as there where there the same amount of time we where. We got our food and stayed at the able to eat it, during this more people kept coming and where able to be seated. We got asked if we got take away or seat to which I responded with “no we got take away and seat ourselves as this table was free, people in line can wait as we will be done in 5 mins as this table was free for an hour”, the blonde girl walked away from embarrassment from the amount of tables free. We finished our food and left, definitely last time eating here. I understand the process of a waitlist being in place but it was the fact that I could see their names being crossed off due to not showing up but still had to wait a length time then placing a takeaway order before other we’re being seated...
