We visited Sue’s this afternoon after seeing all the hype. The service was poor and the food was average. Dave’s sauce tastes like seafood cocktail sauce, nothing special at all. What was most disappointing was the service and hygiene. We ordered 2 serves of mozzarella sticks, one spicy and one not spicy. We got the spicy ones first and then brought out the second plate which I thought looked identical to the spicy - I touched it and licked my finger to see if it also had the spicy seasoning. The waitress came over with a third plate of non spicy sticks, before we could tell her we hadn’t ordered the other plate she asked to take them back and then asked me to also pass her the sauce that had been on the plate which we had placed on the table. I then watched her return them to the kitchen and then another waitress went to take them to another table. Aside from them having been left at our table for a few minutes, we told them we had touched them and that they shouldn’t serve them to another table. I will also note the sticks I had touched were returned to under the heat lamp and not thrown away - unsure if these were served to someone else but given they weren’t immediately thrown out I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else ended up with them. Our order was then missing something else which wasn’t a big deal and was fixed soon after letting the staff know.
To finish off our visit, we watched a waitress walking straight toward us while coughing and not covering her mouth. Then again coughing multiple times on her way back to the bar, again not covering her mouth.
Even if the food was good, I wouldn’t be back as the lack of hygiene made me feel unwell knowing I had just eaten food that could have been coughed on, served to another table before mine or potentially worse that we couldn’t see going on if even the front of house staff don’t know how to uphold basic...
Read moreWow! Partner and I just finished eating and we can't wait to do it again! The atmosphere, music, service were 5 stars all the way. The gentle man who served was right on the ball and turned out to be one of the owners. FOOD.. absolutely incredible! Before you think oh another burger joint pft NO! The food was just fresh and delicious and so accommodating to my allergies. We ordered The classic sue burger with onion rings and areo milkshake and the vegetarian burger with the maple fries with malteaser shake. My burger ( vege) was so amazingly good hit with perfect amount of sauce and salad so you can eat it without wearing it and th plant based Patti was actually really really good and normally dis like them. But the maple fries.. I never tasted anything like them! Coated in a smoke maple sauce and no it wasn't sickenly sweet, Strachan mayo drizzle didn't burn my gob off just a nice polite hum( I removed the bacon cause vego). The shakes were so good we got 2 to go as well. All in all great place, really awesome staff, kitchen very accommodating, owners great food to waffle a bout till the end of time. Most importantly does it give you bang for buck... HELL YES! Food was greatly price and the portions were quite on the larger side. To boot they came around at the end of our meal and offered us refreshing towels I AM...
Read moreIs it good? Yes absolutely, is it over hyped? 100% yes. Got a beef burger, chicken burger and one of the Raising Dave's Box and overall it's all enjoyable.
The sauce that comes with the box that everybody races about it pretty good and does go well with the chicken but it's not absolutely amazing however I will say they give you a LARGE tub of sauce so they don't skimp out on the sauce. The bread that comes with it is just a garlic bread and is easily the worst part of the meal.
The chicken burger was a generous portion size of chicken on the burger, so much so that it starts to fall apart as you eat which is always a bit annoying but a good thing to complain about really.
The beef burger was basically but premium and exactly what you'd want from a place like this. The Thick shake options are good and they taste lovely however I didn't receive my drinks until well after getting the rest of the food and was almost done eating by the time they got bought over.
At the end of the day this place is definitely worth having but if you're traveling from Northside like I did It's honestly basically the same as Betty's Burgers and not different enough to be worth the trip...
