The Sands Social is a family-friendly community place located at 50 Keogh St, Sandgate QLD 4017. The Sands Social is associated with the Kedron Wavell Services Club, members from KWSC can use their members cards at this community location. This social place is the same location, which was the Sandgate RSL. The Sandgate Sub Branch is a separate building at the same address. The Sands Social is conveniently located 450 metres walk from the Sandgate railway station & bus services run regular services in the main area of Sandgate. I found from the outset that the staff go the extra mile to ensure that everything is your time at this place is an enjoyable occasion 😀 Nothing was a problem! There is plenty of adequate seating where the restaurant & the gaming area are located on Level One. Toilets are available on the same level. The Sands Social provides a wonderful menu selection for everyone, including children & people with special dietary requirements. People with disabilities are well looked after, with ample parking on-site. A lift at the lower main entrance takes you up to the first level. Another point worth mentioning was that the meals served were well prepared & value for money.😋 A great bar provides a wonderful range of wines 🍷, craft beers, spirits & cocktails 🍸 Live music entertainment is regularly available. There is a TAB area where you can relax & place your bets, or watch your favourite live sporting events 😉 I would definitely recommend that if you are looking for a good social outing to enjoy a quality meal, drink, or just relax to pay a visit to The Sands Social.

Roast of the day today on Saturday was lamb. I was really looking forward to a roast cooked by someone other than me as a treat. It was Extremely tough. The Rosemary potatoes were half cooked. Possibly boiled then sprinkled with herb from a bottle. Where are the crispy roast well cooked vegetables of old ? I have given feedback to staff and hope that someone who LOVES cooking a good roast spends some time Teaching the cooks the skills to produce a good roast because if it’s good it will bring in the hordes. This experience today will send them running!! Keep trying and let’s hope it improves

Went for the Seafood Buffet. Well done. Great selection of seafood. I don't know why you bothered to plate chicke breast though.😁Plenty of serves. The only flaws: - The potatoes in the Salad were heavily undercooked. I can't believe that you actually put them out there. The dressing was nice though. - The crumbed and fried calamari were overcooked. Still edible but very dry and chewy. For the price of the buffet they shouldn't have been served. Therefore on 4 stars for food. Everything else was cooked to perfection. I very much liked the pasta salad.

The entree pizza breads, sweet potato wedges and pizza was very tasty. Great job. The burgers and steak sandwich were average and the chips had obviously been sitting around for 5-10 minutes in the kitchen as they were luke warm at best and soggy. I think our table of 4 ate less than 10 chips, they were that bad. There was a trivia night running which meant that there was a lady on the PA system asking and answering questions - very annoying whilst trying to talk to others at our table but that is our fault for not checking that the trivia night was on. Finally, the main reason for 3 stars is we specifically ordered take away sweets as the environment was not conducive to staying and chatting due to the trivia night - after the the staff took my order and my money, she put the docket up and walked off. We then stood around waiting, whilst watching 3 seperate staff members wander around in front of us. No one attempted to get our take away order. Finally, we’d had enough and I went back to the counter and cancelled my order. The Manager, to his credit, was apologetic and offered free sweets and drinks but I refused on principle. I could understand if it was busy or they were understaffed but to see 3 staff members loitering around and not doing anything in particular, joking with other staff, whilst paying customers are waiting for someone to put some cake in a takeaway box, really soured our experience at the club. I can see some poor hospitality traits slipping back into the club, which is a shame after enjoying...
