I know I know the bad review amongst so many others. I went here after popping into another business on Burke. It was still early in AM one other customer waiting for their order. I waited I was in eyeline of person in kitchen - no biggie they’re busy waited a bit more asked the other customer about their order etc general small talk, still no one. No bell to press either. Finally someone comes to serve me I ask for the morning combo got told I finished 5 mins ago so I couldn’t have the deal by this point- I asked if they were joking. Now it’s comical I’m ready to not bother but figure I’ll try since the reviews were good. Not great news to report the pork belly was soft and congealed- no good mouth feel at all, the bread was so hard it just smooshed the meat and made it worse. Ordered their Grill pork salad bowl today. Little complimentary fish sauce given in a small sauce container. Most my work college complaints this dish is tasteless because not enough sauce. I asked for more sauce today, the staff tell me to pay extra 50 cents for the fish sauce. I was so upsad as this is a complimentary sauce for this dish in every Viet place, otherwise it has no taste. Also, they just try to just use a small sauce container to hold this sauce for take away order, then try to make another way to charge customer for extra 50 cents. I thought I'd try out this place next to Shawty's which I love. I had the promoted lunch combo of banh mi (beef), 2 small spring rolls and coke or water. I have got to say that as a simple lunch, it was very good. The service is friendly enough in a Viet way and there is an outside covered eating area.
