Heartbroken Experience – Hope They Improve Before It's Too Late. I’m writing this with a heavy heart. I truly didn’t want to post a negative review, but I feel it’s necessary—otherwise, they may never improve, and one day they might have to shut down. When my wife heard about this Bangladeshi restaurant, she was genuinely excited. We were hoping to get a taste of home, but unfortunately, the experience turned out to be very disappointing. We ordered Fuchka, Halim, Kalavuna Teheri, Biryani, Moglai, Chotpoti, and Thai Soup. To be honest, only the Fuchka was somewhat okay. The rest of the items were extremely poor in quality and taste. Chotpoti tasted like plain lentil soup—nowhere close to the real thing. Teheri was just terrible, bland, and lacked any aroma or flavor. Thai soup—honestly, I don't even know what it was supposed to be. Completely off. Kalavuna was a total letdown; they served what seemed like ordinary beef curry and called it Kalavuna, which was misleading and disappointing. Halim and Biryani were both below average and lacked any balance in spice, texture, or flavor. It makes me wonder—do they even have a trained chef? Or is it just someone experimenting in the kitchen? This is not how Bangladeshi cuisine should be represented. I sincerely urge the owner: please hire at least one professional chef who knows how to cook authentic Bangladeshi dishes, or consider changing your business model. At this rate, it will be hard to survive in the long run. We went there with high hopes and left heartbroken also waste of...
Read moreWe had lunch at Spice Dine Restaurant in Brisbane, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience overall.
We ordered three items: polaw with chicken roast, beef tehari, and fuchka. The fuchka was actually quite good – fresh and flavourful – but the other two dishes were just average. It felt like the food had been reheated rather than freshly cooked, which really took away from the experience.
The biggest issue was the service. There was only one lady handling everything – taking orders, cooking, and serving – and it clearly impacted the quality of service. Even though the restaurant doesn’t advertise itself as self-service, we had to collect our own food from the counter.
While eating, we noticed there were no glasses or water on the table. When we asked, we were told to help ourselves from a jug and cups sitting near the counter. For a sit-down meal, that just felt unprofessional.
After we finished eating, no one came to clean the table or take the plates – we were just left sitting there with everything still on the table.
We paid $44.24 (around $45) for the meal, and honestly, it did not feel worth it. With average food and very poor service, we expected a much better dine-in experience. Sadly, we won’t be...
Read moreWe recently had dinner with our family at Spice Dine Bangladeshi restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The food quality was excellent—authentic, delicious, and beautifully presented. The restaurant is in a great location, making it easily accessible.
We’ve known Mr. Uzzal for a long time and admire his dedication. Just like his well-regarded grocery shop, we’re confident that the restaurant will also continue to succeed and maintain a strong reputation in the community.
A special mention to the chef, who not only prepared amazing food but also came to our table multiple times to check on the service and gather feedback. Her humble and attentive approach truly stood out.
We highly encourage our community to support this wonderful initiative by visiting with friends and family to enjoy the authentic flavours of Bangladeshi...
