They lured us in with the promise of appropriate seating that we were looking for, it was confirmed three times that we would be able to be seated somewhere other than at the front bar as we had organised to dine, then after we clocked up a tab on wine the seating situation was no longer promised. We chose to leave and there was no attempt at customer service.
UPDATE to their response:
While we were happy to host you and indeed had room to for your party of two, we unfortunately couldn’t sit you at a table for five, as it was Riverfire and we were experiencing quite a busy influx of customers. - this is a lie, you were not busy and there were several tables. you offered to split a table of 4, so there would be two tables of 2.
We did however offer you two alternative tables away from the bar area, both of which you declined. - also not true, we came in expressing we wanted to sit at a table to eat food, you said yes, then after the nonsense offered a bar seat. dont ssay we both declined, my wife didnt say a word to any of your staff, she was just waiting patiently so as not to intervene.
Our staff make every effort to explain how our card-operated self-service machines work as we realise this is a unique experience for a lot of people. Rather than “clocking” up bar tabs they are simply there for you to use at your leisure with the card we provide you. - explaining how it all works is great, and the interaction model is great, and we would have indulged much more beyond what we clocked up if your promise for a seated table was kept.
dont use your replies to fabricate lies to those who use reviews as a way to determine if your venue is worth visiting. be sure to add the CCTV footage to prove...

Located on Adelaide street in Brisbane city right around the corner from the Marriott, this cute wine bar is the perfect spot for wine catch ups.
This is the same concept to the well known ' The Winery ' in Queenstown and in Surry Hills.
You are given a card as you walk in, and you are able to try many kinds of wines which are dipensed as you tap your card, and place your wine glass underneath. You then select from 3 different sizes and pesto🥂
What I love about this is that you are able to try lots of different wines from all around the world and if you don't want to have a large glass, well that's okay; you can have a little sample.
Food we had on the day was great, service was excellent, and it has a really chilled and laid back atmosphere.
I would only hope for the future that there are a few more vegan/vegetarian options as my partner can't have dairy, and I would love to take my friends here who only eat plant based.
Make sure you check these guys out next time you are in the city.
Note: You are best to take a Taxi or Uber in as there isn't really anywhere to park close by. They also have a little takeaway bottle shop so you are able to buy one of your favourite wines on...
Read moreOMG WOW What an awesome concept, in all my travels I have not had such a memorable experience that left me drooling for more. John the sommelier was the perfect host in explaining the intricacies of the whole process and describing each wine in such detail with his passion coming through in spades. You swap a debit/credit card for a Wineology card that you insert into the machine and select the desired amount of wine to be dispensed, hold your glad under the dispensing funnel and the magic happens, it's then a party on your taste buds as you sip away. I can honestly say all the wines we tasted were awesome. The Tapas selections are perfect to accompany any wine selection and portion size is perfect. I certainly recommend going for lunch and having the $50 Saturday lunch special which includes garlic bread with a starter and main Tapas, very worth the outlay. My only regret is that we don't have this in Melbourne, but probably a good thing as I would spend so much time there. They rotate the wines regularly and knowing John's impeccable knowledge and pallet they will always leave you wanting more. If you're staying or visiting the area, and love your wines this is an absolute must, you will...
