I have been eating at yolk since the day it opened and I can't stress enough how good the food is, literally the best breakfast roll in the area. However sadly, over the years, all the staff have interchanged which is understandable, but the staff at the moment seem are not the friendliest. I watched one lady receive her two coffees, and she asked which was which; someone from behind the coffee machine yelled 'chocolate is on the a cappuccino' - the tone was condescending and the lady was quite shocked. Immediately after, my order (which has been the same order for years) came up, and it was not correct. There was a mistake with the sauce, no big deal, however when I raised it at the desk the lady serving me immediately questioned if I had ordered the wrong thing. I don't like tomato sauce, I've never ordered tomato sauce, and it seems unfortunate to be made to feel like I was a nuisance because someone made a simple mistake.

Anyway people have bad days and again, the food is incredible, I just think the staff need to understand the level of customer service they are replacing, because the old team was everyone's...

This morning I bought a chips, after my mate, and advised I'd be seating at the same table that he'd just gone to. After a short interval his food arrived, after another 10-15 minutes I went up and asked if the chips had arrived, they advised me not yet. I waited another 10-15 minutes and asked again and they asked why my order was and ordered it again. The staff member advised she'd thought it was a different table and that table had just taken the free chips. I subsequently did get my chips, but at that stage I'd been waiting longer than half an hour. If I'd worked at the store, had made a mistake (which there are table numbers there to avoid), and then not fixed it up the first time it was brought to my attention, I'd throw in a cookie, a hash brown or something else basic as an apology. It felt like this was a missed opportunity, which is a shame, because the...

Saw YOLK in Instagram, a new cafe in Gasworks. A trendy setup. Eventhough it's a small space, but I think they've done a great job in revamping the area compare to the previous. They serve coffees, various types of rolls, and sweets on display. Ordered their coffee and it was good. Coffee hunters should drop by and have a sip. I tried their steak and egg roll, chicken roll, and hashbrown. The chicken roll fits the bun very well makes it easy to eat, though it's a bit dry and slightly too salty. The steak and egg roll wasn't that enjoyable to eat because the sauce, the egg, and the steak was out of the bun alignment to its bottom. It became a deconstructed burger instead. But it tasted really good, steak cooked perfectly, and the sauce complements the burger. Hashbrown was great. :) Will try again next time I'm...

Are the standards slipping? A semi regular at this popular bacon and egg spot, I found this mornings burgie a slight let down. They weren’t hugely busy for a Sunday morning, I ordered a bacon and egg roll with hollandaise, egg well done (look I love a runny egg but it can get a little much while trying to navigate sauce and yolk). The burger was nice however it felt rushed due to the bacon not being as crisp as it usually is and the bun was a little stale or could have been toasted for longer. I was surprised to see that my burger came out quicker than my coffee, even though there were three on the machine. Not the worst bacon and egg roll in Brisbane by any stretch, however not as good as I usually expect from the team at yolk. Instagram worthy though as always. I think ya gotta be.

I came here with my friend, just wanna chilling, my order was coldbrew. My drink was really nice but the service did not convince me to come back again. The waiter who wears glasses who took our orders was really rude, and her face was like not ready to work anymore. My friend just asked for the milk wt ice but her English is not good and its made the waiter seem to be angry with her, so i jumped and help to explain what my friend wanted to order and that guy raised her voice and said " I know what her want to order but what kind of milk she wants? we have 4-5 milk here? " with the aggressive voice. We are not okay with that anymore. If you really want to work in hospitality, you have to change your attitude!
