My first night in Brisbane we wandered upon Reef Seafood and Sushi Brisbane. It was late and we were looking for a quick eat. In Australia many restaurants use a QR code system to place an order. Being my first time at this restaurant I had no idea what I was meant to do. The waitress for who welcomed us didn't do a really good job of explaining and I was left confused for abit even though we did tell her this was our first time here. After looking at the menu we decided to order Asahi batters fish and chips. The presentation was definitely top notch and very professional. However the batter that was used was a tad bit bland and needed alot of the tar tar sauce on the side to help enhance the flavour. The second dish, Grill Seafood manay was abit disappointing. We were expecting a variety of seafood but the only protein was fish and some prawn. Where were the mussels and clams? The final dish for the night was the Tasmania Grill salmon with chip and lemon butter sauce. The dish was average and it tasted exactly how it sounds. The salmon, even though the main component was bland and could have used some more seasoning during cooking. The lemon butter sauce helped a tad bit but that was that. In total with the drink we spent around 100 dollars for our entire meal food and drinks a moderate price for a seafood restaurant. We did see the table next to us order a huge platter that's filled to the brim with a variety of seafood. Calamari, fried fish, and even the seafood manay. It's a really big platter and could definitely fill up 4 people and the price for it was decent. Overall a good experience and would come back again in the future. I hear that the miso scallops are quite good so I definitely recommend you all to try it and just the seafood there is really fresh so order some fresh oysters for starters would be very nice.

The sashimi is great, the cooked food is totally fine, but the person who seems to be the manager could do with some PR lessons. I've been buying sashimi-grade salmon on-and-off for the past 10 years or so from the counter on the left. When they're not busy they've always sliced it for me to take away (NOT eat-in) with no issues. Last weekend when I asked, the person serving spoke to a person whom I presume is the manager, who said I will not cut this for you, if you want it sliced you have to buy it from the other side. I asked if this was a new policy as I've had it sliced for me before. He said no, he has been there since the start and he'd like to find out who sliced it for me in the past so he can fire them. It is unfortunate that the manager has such a poor attitude and is sorely lacking in PR skills. If that's how he speaks to customers, I dread how he treats his staff. He could have simply politely explained that their staff aren't supposed to do that (which is _totally_ fine) and that would have been the end of it, rather than loudly threaten to fire staff who were just being helpful to customers. For the sake of the staff, I do hope the work environment there isn't as bad is it looks.

Due to the fantastic reviews, I decided to bring my parents, who are major seafood fans, here. They prefer quality over any of the fancy restaurants and I thought this would be a real gem. Anyway, first, they don't take bookings so we were seated somewhat in the corridor of the shopping centre. It was slightly awkward but bonus, much quieter than the actual restaurant which was a few decibels short of the sound barrier. Well, we were still determined to make it a success and really all that matters is the quality of the food. We ordered the 4 person seafood platter for $199. For that price, we received a really decent amount of well presented seafood. The shellfish were fine and the calamari was nice but the real highlight, the crustacean, fell woefully short. It was not fresh at all and lacking in actual taste of any sort. In fact, it felt a little like we were given all the duds that were left over from the a la carte. Very disappointing. For the price and reviews, I really expected better. Ambience: noisy (lively) Price: $$ Value: you're probably better off ordering off the menu.

I’ve been here for the second time and so has most of the people I was with. This experience is yet to be the most disgusting and eventful. Never have I seen or worked at a place where the supervisor “attacks” the customer because there was a miscommunication. Nevertheless, this review probably will probably go unnoticed just like every other but hopefully it will steer customers away who generally just want to have a good time with their friends. Staff is unwelcoming, unpleasant and very high and mighty.

My husband ordered a French martini for one of our friend which he couldn’t really mix up because he doesn’t know any other cocktail he even called it French Martin, when it arrived at the table it was an espresso martini we looked at each other I even questioned my husband if he really ordered the French Martini which he repeated what he said at the counter, we waived a waiter to say we didn’t order the espresso, one of the bartender came to us and said looking at my husband “no you ordered an espresso, I heard you say it” keep in mind she wasn’t who served him. We were all shocked with her response and the way she talked to us so we asked for the manager and she said I’m the supervisor. It is our shock that this was how she behaved she had absolutely no sense of customer service nor did anyone that worked there really. We later asked one of the waiter for the supervisors name and she answered “ sorry I’m new here I don’t know” but we saw her and the bar staff and even some of the other staff go behind the bar talk about us right after we asked for the “supervisor’s name”. After that we had almost all the staff glaring and looking at our table what a great atmosphere to be in. At the end of the day it wasn’t really about the cocktail it was about the way the staff and the supervisor had treated us. 4/6 of us work in hospitality and 3 of us are or were a part of the supervisor/management team hence feeling disgusted about the staff’s behaviour. Definitely in need of a new management team and staff. The passion is no longer there nor is it translated to...

Booked for a dinner at 7.30pm online. There were 8pm options so i picked 7.30 to be safe. We even reached earlier at 7pm and was surprised to see how little diners there were. After awhile i realised that closing time is at 8, so we made sure to be quick. When ordering our food, we were served by a lady that was CLEARLY just trying to get home and rush us away. She looked impatient, didn’t care when i asked her what was in the platters, super rude and face full of frustration. Come on, even if you guys close at 8, we still had time from 7 at least right? Please, i understand employees are just there to do their job and get home, but will the buisness change their online booking system and stop the cut off at 7 instead. By the time we were halfway through our meal, chairs were all stacked around us, getting looks from employees etc. Our meal total was about $300, but that was not worth a single dollar. This has by far been the most unpleasant experience i’ve had in a restaurant, used to think you guys were so good. Now it’s just horrible service + mediocre quality food, oysters were SUPER tiny and smelly. This was for my birthday dinner with my parents coming from abroad, how pathetic of a experience was this for them? The waitress that served us had SUCH HORRIBLE service, and not like i questioned her about a million things, i only asked what other seafood only platters were available since the app had multiple sold out. Frustrated, annoyed and eyerolls you name it. I will not name who she is as it’s not to harm her livelihood, it’s for the business owners to wake up and check on the quality of...
