This cafe has the Byron vibe - right down to the overpriced menu... The setting is lovely - sipping on your coffee with the sun bathing you in that glow that just makes you feel relaxed... The coffee is okay, the food too. But. You walk away feeling unsatisfied. With the food, the drinks & the overall experience. $18 for the halloumi toastie - the taste & quality wasn't bad. For $18 tho? I expected better. $8.50 for the milkshake. Except it wasn't a milkshake. It was chocolate milk poured into a milkshake cup that was filled with ice. And if you want the banana bread toasted - you may need to explain what that means... Have been here a couple of times over the years & each time remember why it's been couple of years between drinks. For Byron - for coffee, or for food, or for the vibe - there are better places.

I ordered the most furnished aƧaƭ bowl. While it tasted decent, it was nearly frozen and lacked a particularly good or appealing presentation. No peanut butter avaible this day (It was not precised when I ordered. Very poor customer experience. The woman who took my order made me feel irrelevant when I kindly asked for the missing ingredient (peanut butter). Overall, I sensed a negative atmosphere with no smiles or warm vibes. Overall I would not recommand this place, and I do not think I will come back.

My husband and I visited Byron Bay for a short break. We discovered Wide Open Road located slightly off the main drag. The coffee is the best we’ve had in Byron. This place is a must to visit. The food menu is scrumptious. We had chilli scrambled eggs and a haloumi toastie mid morning. The vibe in this cafe is layback and trendy. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. This is a fab place to hang out.

we love Steph and the team here and are die hard regulars. insanely good coffee, chai blend (no powdered rubbish), exceptional cold-pressed juices and elixirs made on site, old school toasties and sangas, salmon bagels, granola, cinnamon buns, protein balls and other yummies. this is a place where each coffee is made with love, skill and care, your toast is always going to be perfect and there’ll be an extra pickle on the golden buttery toastie. soundtrack is always solid and cruisey. Come rain or shine, wide open road is the real deal. you will see a rainbow spectrum of byron locals and transits from across the globe - all making their way on the wide open...
