We found Yulli's by randomly searching on Google, and it turned out to be better than we expected. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly, making us feel welcome. We were also surprised to discover that the restaurant served vegan food, something we hadn't planned for. We had originally wanted a non-vegan meal, but we decided to stay and give it a try.
We ordered dishes like San Choy Bow with crispy rice, Pad Thai, Jungle curry, and Kratongtong crispy wonton. The staff was attentive and even asked us for an extra serving since our group of five but the serving was for four. This level of care and service was unlike other places we've been to.
While we waited for our food, we started to doubt our choice since we weren't expecting to enjoy vegan food. But when our dishes arrived, we were all amazed by how they looked. The food was beautifully presented, almost like a fancy restaurant. The flavors were a perfect mix of sweet, salty, and sour. Each dish impressed us as it was served, and from the first bite to the last, every plate was bursting with delicious flavors. Yulli's uses fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it's clear they pay a lot of attention to detail in each dish. The Pad Thai was our favorite, but all the dishes were excellent. Yulli's vegan food surpassed our expectations and changed our minds about vegan cuisine.
This place has now become our favorite spot, creating wonderful memories during our trip to Byron Bay. It was a truly enjoyable experience, and we wholeheartedly recommend Yulli's to our friends when they...
Read moreAn absolute gem in Byron Bay. Yulli’s delivers a fully vegan banquet experience that feels more like a global culinary journey than just a meal. Each course showcases techniques and flavours drawn not only from across Asia, but from all around the world – masterfully blended into a cohesive and elevated tasting menu.
Coming from Hong Kong, I’ve grown up surrounded by complex and bold Asian flavours – so to find a restaurant in Australia that captures and reimagines those tastes with such skill honestly blew me away. My tastebuds were thrilled.
The second course was a true standout: Sesame-crumbed shiitake mushrooms. The layers of flavour and texture were perfectly orchestrated – crunchy, savoury, bright, and deeply satisfying. And that final bite of pickled cucumber? An absolute stroke of brilliance – it tied everything together with a refreshing, zesty lift. (I sincerely hope this dish becomes a permanent fixture on the menu – it deserves to be.)
The Korean fried broccolini was another highlight – bold, sticky, and tangy in the best possible way. It’s clear that this is not just about fusion for novelty’s sake, but a genuine, thoughtful celebration of culinary traditions, brought together with creativity and flair.
If vegan food tasted like this every day, I’d go plant-based in a...
Read moreBest food I've ever had. I've been vegan for 6 years and it's the best food I've had I that time and better than anything pre-veganism- I've been to vegan restaurants across London (England) including Michelin starred ones, and this is easily the top. The depth of flavour in each dish, the thoughtful order of the tasting menu, the variety- and all for $48 each!!!!! My favourite dish had to be the shittake and walnut mince- such a great combo of flavours and textures. But honestly we liked every course. I'm not usually a big dessert person but these were too good.
Not to mention the service was also great- we got there as a walk in an hour before closing but they didn't rush us at all, and we were there for a good 20-30mins after close. Each dish was well explained by the servers, and they were all lovely to talk to.
Finally, great ambience with nice decor and chill music. I'd happily do the 24hr flight each way from home just to come...
