We had a terrible experince with Hanok tonight. We called them yesterday, for booking of 15 ppl,the guy confirmed us. He further said we have no pre-booking for Thursday, you do not require to do pre booking. But still we asked him to book a 5able for 15 table which he confourmed. On the safe side we kept on calling them today, but no one recieved the call. When we reached there, they said we have no bookind under your name, n we have no space, you did not call us also. When we showed him on our mibile that how many times we called the number n yesterday we had a detailed conversation with someone. Then, he accepted that it was a new guy i do not know anything about it. You cant dine in as you didnt have booking. I am sorry to say, it was unprofessional, he denied us earlier, when we showed him the calls,he said it was a new guy n he did not tell him about the booking..like a well know resturant does work on verbal communication, they don't have a system on a computer or a writing diary. it was sad, frustrating for us. And more than that the he doesnt own his mistake n kept on denying our calls n later saying it was a new guy. They have to upgrade their booking system, requires trained staff, value customers n accept their shortcomings instead of asking for evidence and did not even try to fix their mistake. We heard good re iews about food but customer service is more important in...
Read morerecently dined at Hanok in Dickson, and it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, where traditional Korean decor meets modern design, creating a cozy yet sophisticated dining space.
The food at Hanok is outstanding. Each dish I tried was rich in authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The variety on the menu offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a comforting bowl of bibimbap, tender and juicy Korean BBQ, or spicy, flavorful kimchi stew. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and every bite was a perfect balance of traditional taste and modern culinary flair.
One standout was the Korean BBQ – not only was the meat tender and well-marinated, but the staff also helped guide us through the grilling process, ensuring that everything was cooked to perfection. The side dishes, or “banchan,” were plentiful and delicious, with a variety of flavors and textures that complemented the main dishes wonderfully.
The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and more than willing to explain the dishes and make recommendations. They genuinely seemed to care about providing a great dining experience, checking in regularly and being quick to fulfill...
Read moreThis was a really disappointing experience. I went with my family and we have been eating Korean BBQ all our lives in both Korea and Australia.
The only positives were the staff, who were quite friendly and quick with their service. The food was absolutely abysmal.
We ordered a couple of serves of pork belly - a standard in Korean BBQ. The slices came frozen solid and once cooked, they turned into thin strips of leather. The menu regarding the seafood and soondoobu (soft tofu) stew was terribly unclear. They asked whether we wanted it to be spicy and mild. Not wanting our tongues blown off, we opted for the mild. The mild didn't have ANY gochugaru in it! Who has ever heard of a soondoobu chiggae (stew) without chilli? They needed to make it clear that mild soondoobu stew is just salty clear seafood water with lumps of tofu. The kimchi pancake (another staple) was undercooked and floppy, without the expected crunchy exterior.
The most egregious part was paying $5 PER PERSON for banchan (side dishes). Any Korean eating Korean BBQ requires kimchi has a side dish. It's unKorean to pay for kimchi at a restaurant. It's like being asked to pay for tap water.
If you know what authentic Korean BBQ is meant to be, then avoid like the plague. If you've never been to one before, you...
