I have no real cooking facilities where I am staying at the moment so I depend on restaurants for dinner most nights. I have been working my way through their take away menu now for about 3 months and I have tried about half of their dishes. All of them I have tried so far are extremely good, taste wonderful and I can and do eat them nearly every night. My favourite is Shark-fin and Crab-meat soup which I can't get enough of - its delicious. Whenever i walk in or phone them they are always busy and about half their customers are Chinese which to me is a good indicator of a good restaurant when their fellow country men and women dine there. I never eat at an ethnic restaurant (I mean a place that has a specific nationalities signature food as its main business, eg. Chinese, Indian, Peruvian, Thai etc) if there are few or no customers of the same nationality as the food dining there or waiting for takeaway.

I am always greeted with a smile and they know me by name and all their staff are so welcoming and friendly even when its extremely busy. I have hardly ever had to wait for my food unless they are serving customers in-front of me and the food is always fresh and hot and ready when I arrive - I always order by phone to avoid waiting and even in the middle of dinner on Saturday nights, the longest time from order to collection I can remember was 25 mins but normally 10 to 15 and it takes me 10 minutes to drive from my place to get there.

I often ask for menu items with changes such more of one ingredient or less of another and they are always happy to do this and I have NEVER received a dish that was not exactly what I ordered.

The only thing I think could be slightly improved is that for my taste, some of the dishes are a little too sweet or have too much oil but not excessively so and I admit I have never asked them to vary the sweetness or amount of oil in a dish and I often order dishes such as Garlic Lamb which is oily but tastes awesome but not so good for the waistline :| Even those that were a little oily were still really tasty and fine if I wasn't eating them every day. I would love to be able to eat all their dishes without gaining too much weight so I am slowly learning which of the dishes are healthier and which to avoid. There have only been a couple of dishes I did not enjoy but thats because they were not to my taste and I had not eaten or ordered them before so was trying something new - I am sure those dishes were prepared exactly as they were meant to be but I guess you can't like everything. I guess I can't complain if something called sweet and sour pork turns out to be sweet - the name says so !

My only big complaint is that they are closed on Tuesdays so it leaves me with nothing to eat for dinner - 2 minute noodles just aren't the same. If I could, I would eat their food 7 days a week :)

I can totally recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for quality Chinese food in Dickson or on the north-side although if I moved out of the area I would probably keep coming back for their food and service. I must admit I have yet to dine in there as I am usually alone and dining in a restaurant solo is a little bit weird for me so I can't comment on their table service but every time I am there to pickup take away, I see the people who have just finished dining there leaving looking very happy - a good sign they had a...

I’ve been getting takeaways from here for about 3 years which the food has always been great. On my birthday I decided my family should enjoy their cuisine so booked a table for 9 people.

I can say I was stunned by the abysmal service by staff - so professional in their weekend tracksuits and looking like they just rolled in from the gym and had zero interest in customer service or their jobs in general.

With covid restrictions in place they were insanely overcrowded and way over the number allowed - no QR code, no sign in, no space between tables.

Having small children who needed to eat we stayed, as time moved on the lady who had always been so lovely and polite when I collected my takeaway was so rude to my mother and yelled in her face as she was trying to order a drink, staff basically threw all food on the table and didn’t remove used dishes, we had to continually chase up drinks and as shocking as it was to witness it was blatantly obvious the tables around a us where Asian people were seated were treated very well, with dignity and respect, in a timely manner and we were ignored.

I had built up the expectations to my family for this restaurant so am mortified to be giving it such a poor review - if I give zero or minus stars I would.

I will never return to this disgusting excuse for a restaurant and will recommend to anyone I can to avoid this business. There are plenty of other restaurants that have amazing food that I will happily spend my money in, that displays focus on hospitality, among basic decency...

My friend Anj recommended Jimmy's, so last Friday, I decided to take my family there. They have a great selection of takeaway family meals, though, so we decided to just takeaway. Pack A ($43.89, good for four) came with Mongolian Beef (truly delicious!), boneless Chicken with Lemon Sauce (moist and flavourful), fried rice (my kids took it all), and three spring rolls that were great but probably would have been even better if we had them freshly fried (we took 15 minutes to get home). We also ordered a hot and sour soup that my wife enjoyed. The counter lady was very friendly and we didn't wait long for our food. Overall, a great experience, we would definitely return and dine in so that we can really enjoy all that food fresh from their kitchen.

We are Melbournians on a road trip to Sydney with a 1 night stay in Canberra. We decided on Jimmy’s Place for dinner after walking around Dickson for a bit as it was a restaurant with quite a few people in there compared to the others in the area. We thought Canberra was going to be expensive but the lobsters🦞were actually cheaper than Melbourne. We ordered a stir fry ginger spring onion lobster egg noodle & it was delicious!😋Lobster was fresh & noodles were well made/seasoned. We also ordered a variety of dishes to accompany the steamed rice. Each dish was of a generous portion with fresh ingredients used & very tasty. Total bill was also cheaper than Melb which was a bonus. Highly recommended restaurant for yummy Chinese cuisine in Canberra.👍🏻

Quite nice seafood restaurant. Live seafood. Pic one is tofu with seafood ( shrimp, sea cucumber and scollop). Very light and seafoody . Pic two is crab with rice noodles Extremely flavorful and a bit spicy. You can taste the sweetness of the crab and the softness of the rice noodles. Pic three is black Pepper beef. The beef is very tender full of black pepper flavor. Over will come back again but just one thing needs improvement is the service. The waiter was not paying attention at all. Me and my friends waved a couple of times. But they didn’t see us or pretended not seeing us .
