Wasn't as good as expected, given the owner's history at Zaab down the road. The theme, location and atmosphere has a great vibe, the food was a big letdown from the items we tried, the service was fine.
We ordered the Peek Gai Tod (Chicken Wings - $8) to start. Three wings served with sweet chili sauce. They were fine. Lacking flavour and tenderness. Three wings to serve is awkward if dining with 2 or 4 people.
Next we had the Kai Hor Kiew (Quail Egg Wontons - $9). These were a big letdown. They are literally just a quail egg in a wonton wrapper, fried and served with sweet chili sauce. A fairly uninteresting dish. Again a serving of 3 items.
For mains we tried two of the noodle dishes. At ~$15 each on the menu when ordering we thought they were well priced. When they arrived though we realised why they were only $15. There was enough noodles in the dishes for literally two mouthfuls, if that. The flavor of Thai Pho soup was overally sweet and doesn't lend itself to finishing your, rather small, bowl. The marketing images used show big bowls of noodles which we expected given the name and photos on the ordering app. This was not the case.
Overall, a definite miss on the food items unfortunately. We clearly didn't order enough and based on what we did order it wasn't encouraging to try more.
All that said, they have only been open a few weeks and hopefully they can make adjustments. We will try again and redo this review in a few...
Read moreGreat place to eat for a relaxed environment especially in the Summertime!
We got the Pad Si Ew, Boat Noodles, Som Tum, See Hang (beef jerky), thai iced tea (lemon). All of decent portion sizes and plenty flavourful for the price and if you're a protein lover like me, then you'll find that these noodle dishes are well balanced with the ratio of meat to noodles! The beef jerky is a must have and is highlighted on their menu which is for good reason! This would be my go to item for sure.
The thai iced tea was also amazing, not too sour and the aroma of the thai tea was great!
Food all came out very quickly after ordering. Service was ok, but one staff didnt ask if we were finished eating our food before reaching to take away the dish also whilst I was nibbling away at an almost empty dish so that was kinda awkward.
Overall, would come again as the...
Read moreSenn, you had me at 'Thai Spicy' 🌶️🔥 Gotta love a tasty hidden gem that opens til late. Definitely a game changer.
We had the Pad Thai, Lao Papaya Salad, Tom Yum Goong, and the Fried Chicken Wing. Everything is ordered and paid via QR code, and you can even choose the level of spicy (Thai spicy being the highest level) and tick any dietary requirements on each dish.
You can ask for the condiment tray (dry chilli powder, sugar, fish sauce and chop chilli) which is very OG Thai street food.
Tom Yum Goong is a definite highlight, it's not just seafood broth, but a lot of herbs goes into it, one sip and it takes you somewhere else. But my personal favourite is the Lao papaya salad, it tasted exactly like the one my colleague used to make back when I used to live in Phuket 🥹 such a nostalgic taste, and it's actually...
