Oliver Brown — Restaurant in District of Gungahlin

The biggest pro of this place is that its open late! We need more cafes that are late night! And, the ambience is lovely - cozy and warm. However, I had a recent bad experience. We arrived just past 9 am, and the cafe was open. So we stood at the counter to order, but the lady wasn't ready. She was still counting the cash register. Fair enough, we could have waited. However, the lady told us take seat and she'll come to us once she was ready. That was good too. However, as she came and I was ordering for our table, she categorically looked me into the eye and said - "Please next time order at the counter, we don't allow table orders here". ???? Am I missing something? She was so stern, I actually apologised for her inconvenience, as if it was our fault? It was she who wasn't ready with the till, and it was she who told us to take seat!

Since, this is the only place open late nights near Gungahlin, I will probably return? But I have found myself opting for Maccas (:-S) since that incident for after hours coffee. Plus, unless you are getting dessert or their hot chocolate - this place is expensive for...

Pros - Hot chololate tasted good. Cons - WAY over priced, scholding hot and milk order was wrong. I asked for lactose free, spent the rest of the night back and fourth to the bathroom quite ill (i'll put it down to an honest mistake and not malious). Major Con - Terrible customer service and resolution skills displayed by the supervisor/manager on duty 14/4/19.

Been here a few times and most of the staff have been "okay" (nothing special) the majority of the time. However this recent "no bleeps to give" attitude I recieved from a staff member and especially their on duty superior has lost any future business from me.

I may sound like a bitter person, but I am actually someone who has worked throughout the hospitality industry for over 10 years, and as such I am quite forgiving to staff as I understand how hard the industry can be. You are charging quite a premium price for your product... hire staff that are also premium to suit...

I cannot believe the appalling attitude and service that I experienced from certain individuals at this establishment. I found myself being told that I have to leave by an extremely passive aggressive middle aged woman (who didn't even identify who she was and whether she was an employee of the establishment), in her words she arrogantly said "that you cannot eat or bring in any items that were not purchased within Oliver brown Gungahlin". At no time was this message conveyed to me prior to placing my order or as I was entering the store. I purchased $40 worth of coffee and food and was informed only after my purchases that these were their conditions.

I seriously feel that who ever manages this Oliver Brown should reconsider its business practises and should definitely invest in further training/re-training for certain staff as the current state of this establishment is extremely...
