Edo Canteen — Restaurant in District of Woden Valley

This is some of the worst Japanese food I have ever tasted. The ramen broth lacked depth and umami. The noodles were similar to something you buy in a packet from woolworths, the chashu was dry and bland. Katsu curry was OK, lacked any veg and also ginger thrown on top of curry instead of being on the side to fulfil it's purpose as a palete cleanser, gross... The miso soup was clearly from a packet and the 'salad' of iceberg lettuce and corn sucked...

Also service was cold (bodering on rude).

Don't waste your money when there are much better places nearby to get quality Japanese food for...

Edo canteen has a wide range of delicious japanese food athough my reason for a three star review is because of their advertising for the weekday specials. In the past, these were only 10$ which i personally think, is something worth advertising for and its the main reason that I and many other people, were regulars. Recently the specials price has been put up to 14$ which is disappointing.. i would be paying 14$ for a regular dish at a restaurant so marketing it a “weekly special” comes off as decieving and honestly, rather disappointing for any customers that enjoyed...

This is the best chicken curry katsu i have found in Canberra (so far) beef sando's are tasty and my kids love the karage chicken. Haven't tried anything else here tbh but i only want curry katsu anyway, so for that, 5 stars.

Seating options SUCK though especially if you have small children as it is just 4 fixed stools on each side of a long table, very hard for little ones to eat. they should refurbish the outside area of the store to...
