First it was hard to find a table to sit at since they were all covered in dirty dishes that nobody had bothered to clear away even though there were 3 staff behind the counter. I asked for a ham cheese toastie off the lunch meal menu which comes with chips and waited to be asked what type of bread I would like since there was a sign saying only white and ciabatta were available but the menu specified sourdough. I wasn’t asked about the bread, I was only asked if I wanted ham cheese and tomato and (while still pointing at the lunch menu) I said no thank you I don’t want the tomato. Then when I was offered the eftpos machine I asked which bread had been ordered and got attitude that the order had already been placed in the kitchen.. as though I had changed my mind when I actually hadn’t been asked and the sourdough shortage was certainly not my fault. When my order came out, the plate had only an anaemic and dry looking toastie that was small and almost cheeseless .. of course I asked where the chips were and was told that I ordered off the sandwich menu even though I was clearly pointing at the lunch toastie menu.. and when I disputed the mistake and suggested that I would pay the difference in the price I was charged to receive the full meal, they first tried to charge me the full price for a separate plate of chips so I insisted that I would only pay the gap to the price of the lunch toastie plate I had asked for and then I was told that it wasn’t their fault they mixed up my order because it’s confusing.. it’s really not. I am pointing at an item on the menu and asking for that with no tomato.. how is that confusing? Then when my plate eventually arrives it gets literally dropped onto my table with a clatter and about a dozen chips and the overly dry and almost cheeseless sandwich with only the word “there!” which was said quite aggressively. No grace. No apologies for their mix up. Just rudeness. I ate the meal because I paid for it but it was dry and tasteless and absolutely not worth the money. I won’t be back to this particular coffee club.. I have never been treated so rudely or blamed by staff for their own...
Read moreUnfortunately my partner and I had a bad experience at your Woden café yesterday. Generally our experience at the other locations of coffee clubs in canberra are really good but we had not been to the Woden one before.
I’m only giving one star because the coffee was at least decent and I can’t give less than one star.
We ordered an Eggs Benedict with spinach and halloumi and added mushrooms. Basically no spinach on the plate, there was approximately 3 button mushrooms quartered, the poached egg was well over cooked and the halloumi was dry and barely even cooked (like a candle had waved over it).
The second meal we ordered was a smashed avo with an egg, halloumi, hollandaise and bacon. The egg again well over cooked, halloumi barely cooked the same as the eggs benne, bacon tasted like jerky with less flavour as it was barely cooked and was like it had sit out all morning. Plus the menu description of the smashed avo to what we received was quite disappointing.
On a plus note the onion rings we got on the side were at least decent enough to eat. Will not be returning to this location of the...
Read moreWent here on a Sunday morning to nurse a hangover with a friend. Really friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, little bit of a wait on food but nothing to complain there as there were quite a few people eating breakfast at the time. My friend ordered the smashed avo, to me it was way over priced for two pieces of toast with avo, small amount of cheese and seeds, with a very small salad. I got a spicy buffalo burger which was tasty, but the chicken wasn't really to my liking as it seemed to use meat glue, but other wise a pretty good burger with a fine serving of fries. Working in a kitchen I know my way around food, and the quality of what we were served was good, I personally think its overpriced ($19 for the average ol burger), same goes with the drinks, but there are cheaper options on the menu that I assume would be...
