So it started off as a 3 star because the service was a bit awkward.. and although the place was not busy, we were seated next to a group of four who were quite loud and a bit obnoxious. It really ruined the atmosphere as it was hard to maintain conversation. There was also a solid wait between the first and second courses. We were ready to skip dessert, but then the table next to us finally exited, and I were then able to have a better time. Honestly, the patronage completely changed the vibe of the establishment. We then ordered dessert, which was quite delicious, and left fulfilled. I do suggest you give the place a once over with a duster as there were cobwebs hanging by the door. And online the menu states $70 for 3 courses but it was actually $75.

This restaurant goes back decades - Shannon, the present owner, is a great chef. In winter there's a blazing log fire in the central room, to keep patrons warm - and in summer months, patrons spill out onto the footpath, or the terrace area at the rear of the restaurant, to enjoy the fresh air with their meal. The restaurant provides an interesting selection of seafoods, italian dishes, australian, sides and desserts. With plenty of interesting wines and beers, or sparkling or flat water, and other beverages. Great place to dine, or take your friends for a meal. I'll add some more photos later.

We went here for a weeknight dinner. Location was quiet, but steady business. Staff offered a weeknight special of three courses which was good value for money. We were welcomed by the waitstaff and had our choice of tables. There was just one waitress, but she managed very well. Wine list was solid was some good options. The menu had a good selection of items with something for most. The food was good quality and was generous portions. The flavours were not quite perfect, but decent.

So disappointed! went for my daughter's 42nd birthday who is visiting from England, spur of the moment decision the restaurant was empty, my daughter approached the member of staff and asked if it was possible to get a table for 6. No eye contact was told that it wouldn't be convenient but see what she could do.

Staff attitude was appalling form start to finish! outside the restaurant it claims free birthday cake, my daughter (very sweetly) asks what proof do you require to know its my birthday today? staff member responds they need 24 hours notice so no birthday cake for you! (without any congratulations or even offer of a dessert alternative).

My son in law approaches the grumpy member of staff to explain that the attitude is uncalled for and that surely when someone approaches them to say that it is their birthday a more appropriate behaviour should be portrayed to their patrons.

My grandson then hears the staff member complaining about his father to another staff member saying that he was rude.,

Very disappointed as this is not the sort of treatment that we are used to from Perth hospitality. I'm sure not all their staff are like this just make sure this staff member is not working if you want to feel welcome.

Our suggestion is that this staff member find another type of employment where the business doesn't require customer contact for...

Unfortunately not a great experience last night. It was a very cold night but the fire was not lit so the restaurant was freezing. I have to say, the starters were lovely. I ordered the steak medium rare. However, it was well done and also had an odd texture and taste, rubbery and wet like it had been microwaved. The waiter did not ask us how the meal was whilst we were eating and admittedly I didn’t say anything about it but left the steak. On clearing the plates I showed the waiter the steak and she admitted that it was over cooked and said I should’ve said something. I hate returning food. Everyone else finishes theirs meals then they have to wait for me to finish mine. Anyway, they didn’t remove the cost of the steak from the bill. Their choice, however I will never go back. Also, seeing 2 cockroaches climbing two different walls really made me feel queasy, not unlike my stomach all night after that steak! I was quite unwell and still had a rancid taste in my mouth the...

The food here is quite delicious, it's a tight menu that is hard to make a wrong choice with and a lovely wine list to match.

The service is unfortunately slow, front and back of house. Our first instance was a reasonably busy Friday night and the kitchen forgot our order. The wait staff were apologetic and comped us some sparkling wine. We were seated next to the bread station the first time which only added to our frustrating wait. Why they don't give you bread to start if you're going to wait that long is beyond me.

Second time we attended a moderately busy Friday night and we still waited 45 minutes for our main course. So maybe don't head in if you're a hangry individual.

The other major drawback is it is so loud. A distinct lack of soft furnishings means if you are hard or hearing or otherwise inclined towards a more intimate dinner this place might...
