We visited Cassia on Saturday, 21st September for a birthday lunch with my wife and I, and from the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a smile and a refreshing complimentary Lemon Lime and Bitters—probably the best we’ve ever had!
We had an absolutely unforgettable meal. We started with the fish crudo, which was incredibly fresh and bursting with delicate flavors. The focaccia was perfectly baked, with a crisp exterior and soft, airy center, making it an ideal pairing for the appetizers. This perfectly paired with our burrata salad. Then came the showstopper – an 800-gram steak, cooked to perfection, with every bite tender and full of rich, smoky goodness. The sides were equally spectacular: the Brussel sprouts were roasted perfectly, with just the right amount of char, and the potatoes were crispy and seasoned beautifully. We then had the custard dessert. Rich, creamy and decadent. Every dish was a standout, making for a truly remarkable dining experience.
But what truly elevated our experience was ASHLEE, our server, who was nothing short of extraordinary.
Ashlee’s energy was infectious from the start. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the menu but also had an amazing ability to make each recommendation feel personal and thoughtful. Her vibrant personality and genuine enthusiasm set a fun, upbeat tone for our entire visit.
What really stood out was her attention to detail and how effortlessly she balanced professionalism with a warm, friendly demeanor. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel like we were the most important guests in the restaurant. Whether it was a small touch like topping up our drinks, allowing us to sample some wines before purchase, or making sure we had everything we needed, Ashlee’s service delivery was flawless.
Her passion for what she does shone through, making our meal more than just great food—it became a memorable experience. Thanks to her, the atmosphere was buzzing with positivity, and she played a huge part in creating such an amazing vibe for the day. We couldn’t have asked for better service and will certainly be returning, hoping to have Ashlee look...
Read moreBusy restaurant, so busy were seated at the bar, which was fine. We ordered a parfait that came with frozen brioche on the inside. They did new bread and dish was taken off the bill. How on earth does the kitchen serve frozen brioche? Actual parfait was delicious. For main course we ordered lions Main snitty, mushroom jus. We waited one hour and 20 minutes for this to arrive. Inquired of manager when was food coming. The barmen got to deliver the news, Sorry waiter forgot to call your mains away. At no time did the barman, manager or chef in the kitchen realise that they've got customers waiting that long. Pretty average. The lions Mane snitty was a vegan dish. Nowhere on the menu was there the usual industry standard denotation of a vegan dish with some sort of a V. Menu writer needs to be aware that the general populace may not know that a lion's mane is a mushroom. To save confusion why not say mushroom or at least give it a vegan denotation. It was overpowered by the oil it had soaked up in the fryer. It was seriously lacking in flavour, no seasoning, no herbs in the breadcrumbs. It was a poorly conceived and executed dish. At $32 this is not value for money. One mouthful was enough. Surely a restaurant describing itself as Australian barbeque could do better justice to this fungi. It was taken off the bill after explaining to manager how bad the dish was. Saving grace was the Kipfler potatoes, not bad for a 1hr 20 minute wait. Save your money and go to an amazing restaurant called “Fallow” in Northbridge. They are serving amazing food in a gorgeous venue with staff who are...
Read moreThe taste are good but the portion of food for that price tag is utterly disappointing. Could be the location of where the restaurant is seated and perhaps price tag for the interior decorations. Ive tried once seen it, nothing to rave about that makes them stand out for the price that they are charging. Definitely wouldn’t be back.
When you are new to a place usually Instagram helps to decide on what food to order. I get that photos r deceiving but it almost feels like a scam of what they r advertising in the photos versus what was served - both in terms of portion and quality of food. Photo that I’ve posted is the stracciatella figs but can someone spot the figs? Was told it’s a dried fig - great that’s probably because you coudlnt get fresh fig and Served a dried fig and should the menu has swapped it for something else or perhaps show some effort for fresh produce if you are charging a cut throat price.
Ordered the home made potato bread and waiter told us they don’t have that today can they swap with brioche. Ended up getting served four slices of sour dough bread, probably from two slices that’s being cut into four triangular sizes. Barely two bites per person for $12.
On the positive end, fried kifling potato was a success along with the steak. That’s the only thing I would rate. We left without ordering dessert, couldn’t handle any more...
