The food is lovely. I'm giving it 3 stars only because I am not fond of spicy food. I have been to Indonesian restaurants and the ones I have been to, have an option to include or exclude chili or spice. These ones, I couldn't eat at all. However, it is very fresh and I am sure people who loves spicy food would love this.
The service is great, staff are super friendly and polite. They are very organised and works great as a team and made us feel welcome.
I am giving 1 star for the atmosphere as our dining experience wasn't pleasant. It is a public place but while we were eating, and supposedly enjoying the food and ambience, it was ruined by a pregnant mum with two screaming and obviously exhausted children (approx 6 and 5 years old) running around chasing each other with the loudest screams and screech. The mum looks exhausted (of course she would) and couldn't care less anymore so she let's the kids run amok, running around the tables while there are people eating in peace. It is not the restaurant's fault of course. If only parents consider not bringing exhausted kids around at night when kids are obviously tired and ready for their bed times. We have children in our lives but we never brought them to public places especially during times when we know they are exhausted. We never let them ruin other people's peace. If we wanted to let them run amok, we'd let them to do it at our homes and in our privacy so that we don't ruin other...
Read moreYOU GUYS SHOULD TRY THEIR FOOD
Nasi Bali Good rice portion, multiple side dish, plenty of tasty shredded chicken. AND THE SAMBAL, my goodness! You get 2 kinds of sambal and they go really well with the side dishes. They are not mixed with the food so you can control how hot you wanna go!
Gado Gado The peanut sauce was sublime. Not too thick, not too sweet, and smooth. You'll get some crackers made from rice. Aaaaand the sambal, it was definitely kicking and fresh. They also gave a slice of lime for some acid to cleanse through your palate from the sauce.
Es Cendol They put more coconut milk which makes it tastier. It was not too thick and not too sweet. The cendols were small and enjoyable enough to sip through the straw.
Mendoan Ok nothing special about the Tempe but the secret is how they cook it! They cut them thin and long. Coated them with a rather thick seasoned flour batter. Deep fried so it was crunchy. Served with sweet soy sauce. Mamma Mia! I just wish that they provide chilli sweet soy sauce.
I was there on Sunday around 2pm, no more Nasi Rendang :(
Definitely will come back....
