Good Things Fremantle — Restaurant in Fremantle

I recently visited Good Things Cafe in Fremantle, and it absolutely lived up to its name! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic experience.

The menu offers a great variety of fresh, creative, and delicious options to suit all tastes. I ordered the Avocado, and it was absolutely perfect – bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. The coffee was also exceptional, according to my wife, as I'm not a coffee drinker, easily one of the best brews she's had in Fremantle.

The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. The service was prompt without feeling rushed, and their attention to detail was impressive.

Good Things has a cosy vibe and a lovely seating area, making it a great spot to catch up with friends or just relax with a book and a great coffee. I’ll definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch cafe experience...

We did not have a good experience. The coffees were cold, four different sorts ordered but all cold. When we received our food there was no cutlery available and we had to wait for 10 minutes. We had a booking for 10:30 and it was stated it was for 90 minutes. At 11:32 a waitress came over and said we had 10 minutes left on our booking. We questioned this as we had until 12 we thought. She said that ‘first drinks were ordered at 10:18 so the timer started from then’. This is quite ridiculous - there was clearly no one at the table otherwise the first people to arrive in the party would not have been able to sit down, it was table service so a waitress had to come over to take the order- they didn’t say and ‘ FYI if you order now your timer start’. Also if it started at 10.18 we still had more than 10 minutes left (for people who are pedantic about time they should be correct.) there were also other tables and no one waiting. Was excited to try this place having seen that it is quite popular but after the experience we had last weekend my partner and I likely won't be going back.

After walking inside we were immediately dismissed by the blonde staff member at the coffee machine, without explanation. Instantly just said, 'No. sorry, bye' 👋🏻... no reason given, no attempt to be accommodating whatsoever.

Of course, we would understand if they were full or had no space, that's fine, we would have been happy to wait or something... We're no strangers to a long que, but no such offer was extended. It was well within operating hours too so it couldn't have been because they were preparing to close.

In any case, We felt extremely uncomfortable and disappointed with this experience and hope that by sharing this review others might also avoid encountering a similar scenario.
