We haven't visited this place in a long while so after 3 odd years we decided to give it a go. We drove all the way from Mandurah and it was generally worth it. We were welcomed by a friendly waitress and the setting was great. Looking down the menu, the options were good however pricey. The combination We tried was quite yummy and the chef's attention to detail and product quality on plate was fantastic. You have to try their bread for obvious reasons, coupled with the lamb gravy....Yummo!!! 😀😀😀. We ordered the lamb ribs and let me tell you the sauce that was in the plate, I could drink a couple of glasses of that...nice lemony 🍋. With this We had the roasted cauliflower dish...OMG...beautiful combination with the lamb ribs...I couldn't ask for a better meal. One criticism though was that they gave me literally a drop of bubbles for 13 bloody dollars!!! See pic. At least fill the glass up you know? Other than that it was a nice spoil to visit this place and if you want to impress your date? Take him/her here...you will NOT regret it. Our average spent was $40...Not bad at all. Thanks Bread in common 👍👊🤟🙏😀😀❤

Let me start off by saying that the restaurant is beautiful. Great location great decor and the communal tables complement the setting. Service was subpar. Not only did food take over one hour to arrive to our table but the way that it was delivered was not up to the standard that you would expect of a restaurant of this level. We ordered a bottle of wine and no courtesy testing was done. Two full glasses of wine poured and the waitress was out of the way. Similar experience with food plates. They were delivered to the table and there was no interest in explaining the dishes or its contents. Felt like they were shortstaffed or simply uninterested in the customer. Unfortunately, on top of this there was also the issue with the cost and portion size ratio. With share plates you would assume that a $34 pork belly would be enough, or at least satisfactory for one person but surprisingly it contains only 6 to 8 pieces of pork belly. The same thing happens with basically everything else on the menu. A $20 portion of asparagus includes five asparagus. A $6 portion of bread includes three very thinly sliced pieces of bread. The $10 shrimp croissant slider is no bigger than a coin. It just seems overpriced for the service quality you are presented with. All in all, the food was delicious but extremely undersized and overpriced. The service quality does no favours to the restaurant and something that needs to be addressed. For a restaurant that looks so personal and communal the experience was very cold and impersonal. Will likely not return.

We were a little disappointed about our breakfast here. Bread in Common was always on my list as a funky and innovative space for interesting food and cool atmosphere. The atmosphere was great. Service was a little clunky. The space is so so so cool. Maybe the breakfast doesn't match the lunch/evening service but our experience... it just didn't quite match the hype. The coffees we ordered were served in takeaway cups with the apology that they ran out of mugs. They then proceeded to serve others with mugs. It also wasn't a full house so whilst I would have understood if they were run off their feet, the excuse seemed a little weak. The menu read really well, with interesting combinations - I was tossing up what to get and asked the server who responded with a disinterested "it's up to you." 😒 When the food came out we were greeting with what was, very simply, a pretty expensive big breakfast and mushrooms on toast with hummus. It was all very blah. Well cooked and by no means low in quality, but it just wasnt interesting? Or creative? In a different small less hyped cafe maybe we would have been okay with the food but we were just expecting so much more, especially for the price (and one piece of toast). Would be keen to go for dinner and see the difference and hype that everyone raves about. Maybe we were just unlucky.

The dangling lights and the unfinished brick walls give a rustic feeling to the ambiance. To my surprise the sounds from the open kitchen and patrons with cutleries are absorbed. The sounds do not bounce off the walls which creates echoes and noise which sometimes can be disruptive to conversations. This place is great for catch ups. The food is yummilicious. Fine food. Presentation and taste. Id say it's awesome. We had the lamb and smoked duck. The duck was very tender - liked the savoury aromatic duck taste complimented by the light raspberry sauce. While the lamb, lightly seared to a touch of crisp and poured over with mint sauce. We tried Dukkah spread with their bread and churned butter. The butter was *chef's kiss*. Now..Dukkah, for me it's a first. It was delicious and interesting. Google told me it's an Egyptian dish. Nice of sesame seeds and chopped up hazelnuts mixed with olive oil. Was a good appetiser. Had my meal with a glass of Shiraz. Overall I loved my experience here. Only wished the portions were bigger for my gluton of an appetite 😂

The food here is delicious but it's very over priced. It's a share plate style restaurant where, you guesses it, bread is the main focus. The breads are thick, beautiful and a great filler before the main. We shared chicken thighs, pork belly, duck fat potatoes and carrots followed by bread and butter pudding for dessert. The pork belly was a bit fatty and the crackle a bit chewy for me but everything else was spot on. I particularly loved the carrots with yoghurt and rhubarb dressing. The bread and butter pudding is to DIE FOR! You can smell the sugar caramelising at your table...it is drool worthy! We felt the wine was NOT good value, the cheapest was $60 a bottle and even that was terrible. The exposed brick, industrial hanging lights and open kitchen really add to the up beat, arty scene that is Fremantle. The service from most of our waiters was great but we felt rushed through each course by the staff and long que of people waiting for a table by the door.

The whole venue is extremely organised and the decor is extremely welcoming. Service is extremely good and the staffs are very helpful and attentive. The coffee here is great, coffee was not under extracted (sour) or over extracted (bitter) and full of flavour. We ordered these from the lunch menu: Wood fired organic bread (house churned butter & eggplant dip) Zuchinni Sweet potato Roasted potato in duck fat Lamb ribs Bread pudding All the dishes except the bread pudding tasted ok but nothing amazing, the bread pudding was too sweet for my liking. Even without the caramel sauce on top the bread pudding itself was extremely sweet. The wood fired organic bread (plain loaf) with the churned butter was really enjoyable, they serve this with wholemeal sourdough which is dry and slightly more sour to taste compared to a normal sourdough bread. So you might want to avoid the wholemeal sourdough. Will I be back? Yes for their coffee and to try the breakfast menu 👌
