Went for a drink here after a late lunch with a group of girls and stayed for a couple of hours on a Saturday night. It had a good vibe, but this was diminished by the lack of non-alcoholic drink options. I am currently not drinking for medical reasons, but when speaking to a bar tender there was hardly anything on offer that was non-alcoholic, which I think is pretty poor in today's day and age when you consider options needed for designated drivers, pregnant women, recovering alcoholics or people who for whatever reason cannot or simply do not want to drink alcoholic options. Are these people not welcome or just not considered? It is pretty easy to put together some mocktail/non-alcoholic wine or spirits - the only options that were mentioned to me was soft drink (I specifically asked for a non-alcoholic gin or mocktail but was interested in hearing the options). I think if they addressed this then it would be a cool place to go, we went to three other bars in Freo and all had non-alcoholic spirits as an option to cater for sober people. I ended up with a soda water which was fine but no options definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and I think they can definitely sort this out pretty easily so hopefully my review...
Read moreA 21st birthday for granddaughter. Lovely place plants everywhere. We had a party of 22 people and we were on long tables with unfortunately bench seating. Great for kids' nightmare for adults. Ones on ends did ordering for those stuck in middle. Food burgers and chips for most of family 👍👍👍👍 some of us ventured out and not so good. Beef and potato. Son ate it but beef was rare and not keen. Mine was leaf salad and fish with peas. This plate had a bitter acidity lemon overload. Couldn't eat it. My daughter tried a bite and same reaction. My granddaughter took it and ate the lot. Soooo ..... leaf salad was delicious. Go figure. Whatever the dressing was loved it. Got advised that Caesar salad was not your normal version. Lemon added too so check. Fried chicken got smashed also. Service was prompt although we were all under 1 table number so lots of confusion over whose meal was it. It was a quiet...
Read moreWe were at a 58th birthday party of around 30 people from 5:30. At 10pm at this venue we were told that our whole party had been cut off from any more drinks. Five minutes prior the initial reason was backing the junior manager cutting off two people for responsible service of alcohol claiming too drunk. One was the host that was offended/shocked/embarrassed who is mildly boisterous in nature the other sober as a judge talking at the bar with me. I (sober and driving home)was never cut off politely queried the manager who immediately revoked her decision as on talking to ‘the drunk’ at the bar realised he was stone cold sober. This followed young junior manager chat and a subtle joint thumbs up between them with repeat claim to stand by managers initial decision. We are old respected major business owners never refused drinks like this before. Absolutely disgusting. Expensive...
