As a loyal local customer, I’ve supported this restaurant for a long time—dining almost weekly and spending around $1,500 so far this year alone, not including the generous tips I’ve consistently left. I’ve even recommended this place to many friends. So to be treated the way I was on my last visit is absolutely unacceptable. I was accused of being a “runner”—not from my most recent visit, but from the one before that. This is a very serious accusation, essentially accusing me of theft, which is not only completely false but also defamatory. Instead of politely asking if there had been an oversight, Ana, the waitress, and the staff member at the door approached me with hostility and no evidence, treating me like a criminal in front of other patrons. Let me be clear: on the visit in question, I was not alone. I was with my girlfriend and friend, and we actually had a discussion over who would pay the bill. They both clearly saw me pay in cash, as we were literally debating it at the table before I settled it. To then be told I left without paying is outrageous. On top of that, I was told I had been “drunk” during my last visit—another excuse to justify their accusation. If they genuinely believed I was intoxicated, then why did they continue serving me alcohol? That would be a breach of their own responsibilities. If it’s not true, then it’s yet another false claim. Accusing someone of theft without clear proof is serious. It is defamatory and potentially unlawful. The way this was handled was completely unprofessional and deeply offensive. Oh man, where to even start. Came in with a large table for a friends birthday. Booking was for 6:30. Was among the first people to arrive and was one of the first three people to order. Despite ordering the exact same meal as my friend who ordered at the same time as me (the bug pasta) my meal was the second last to come out, well over an hour after the meal was ordered. This was close to 9pm at this point. My other friend had her order well and truly forgotten and had her meal come in dead last despite being the first to order. As the party was wrapping up, and everyone eas getting ready to leave she asked for a takeaway container, only to be told they didn't have any lids, but they'd try to figure something out, at which point she was promptly forgotten about again. She had to go up and ask quite some time later to get her to go container. The wait staff were all rather inattentive and a few were outright rude, and honestly considering the prices charged for the meal, the food wasn't that great.

It's a shame, because the actual restaurant itself seems very cool. And credit where credit is due, the crustini was fantastic. Hopefully this was just an off day for the people here, but neither I nor quite a few of my friends will be...
