4 distinct memories of Kirra beach. 1st 2 times happened on the same day. Seeing 8 or 9 Quickcats lined up on the beach (like Hobie Cats only made out of wood with Hiking Boards) and my 1st snow cone in 1964 - 3rd time was a regatta of sorts, "The Kirra Marathon" 5 years later, about 25 to 30 boats raced up to a mark off Surfers Paradise and the winner was GOLD COASTER a "C" Class catamaran and skippersd by Brian Anstey and they lapped the fleet that day. The last time was 1997 and I had a great Pizza Hut there, I doubt that that Pizza Hut exists anymore and I know for a fact that those boats are long gone as well. The only thing I can't swear to is the snow cones, but I'm bedridden now so a visit is not going to happen because logistically speaking it's a nightmare for all concerned.
