We dined here for a birthday with a table of 9. The restaurant is beautiful. Really well kept and well laid out.
The had live entertainment which added nice value to the atmosphere and wasn’t too loud.
The staff were lovely however there were many issues throughout the night. The staff kept telling us they were understaffed and this was the reasons for their many, many issues. My partner and I arrived and ordered immediately as we were late however the rest of the table had ordered 30 minutes before we arrived. Ours arrive 20 minutes later and then the rest of the 7 arrived spread out over the next hour. My mum and her partner the birthday man had to ask for their meals 3 times.
We asked for top of water a few times and I ended up going and collecting it myself.
Many of the wait staff kept checking on us however they would forget what we asked, possibly due to being over whelmed at a full restaurant as they accepted patrons at almost all the tables, but were understaffed.
My partner asked what the risotto of the day was and the waiter told him, but forgot to mention there was seafood in it so I couldn’t have any.
When they cleared our plates, they cleared it for three of us and not the rest for another 30 minutes. Some of us ended up clearing our own plates.
When we asked them to bring out the birthday cake, we had asked three seperate staff. They brought the cake out and were lovely enough to light the candles, but didn’t bring anything to cut the cake and no cutlery.
The food was quite nice and they gave us 2 main meals for free to apologise for the night which was lovely.
We took photos with our family and one of the staff offered to take the photos for us which was nice.
It’s very possible this was just a bad, one off night for the team. It happens and is disappointing but too many things...
Read moreWhen my partner and I arrived, we wanted to be seated at a normal table, but as it was only the two of us the staff could only offer us high bar stools and narrow tables in the dim walkway. It felt like they were doing us a favour by even letting us eat there even though they were half full. Upon seating, the waiter offered us water (sparkling or still). Thinking that it was complimentary, considering middle-highly priced restaurants like that wouldn’t bother asking for money for soda water when their patrons are spending NO LESS than $25 per dish, we ordered the soda water. The gnocchi was average-I’ve had better for cheaper pricing, the pizza was completely overpriced for its size, and the truffle pasta was extremely oily, my partner and I didn’t even eat a quarter of it. When I went to pay the $100+ bill, i noticed they humbly charged us $8 for soda water. I brought up with waiter that it wasn’t brought to my attention that it would be added onto the bill. He simply responded that he worked in high class hospitality restaurants for many years and soda water is always charged. He took no responsibility whatsoever. Believe me, it’s not the soda water costing money that’s bothered me, it’s simply common courtesy to advise a customer that what they offered you is an added cost to your bill before they serve it to you. I also know it’s complete BS that soda water costs extra everywhere. If you’d like much better service, high quality Italian food, a much nicer seating atmosphere, and of course, free soda water ;) head over to RADICI. We’ve had much better...
Read moreI had heard good things and had wanted to try this place for a while. Booked for an early dinner with 3 relatives who all love Italian food and have eaten in Italy many times. The cocktails were absolutely delicious, as was our starter of burrata and focaccia. Unfortunately the crumbed calamari looked a bit more like pub food, and we were a bit disappointed. The mushroom risotto main was delicious, but the prawn linguine was disappointing for the rest of us. While the prawns were lovely, the rest of the dish was dry and let down by very little sauce or additional ingredients. Some extra fresh tomato, white wine and parsley would have been appreciated (I added some of my white wine into the dish). The service and staff were fantastic, but we also felt that the music just missed the mark - it felt like they were catering to an 18 year old crowd when in reality the crowd was a lot older and would have appreciated something more authentic or less clubby. I love music and think it creates a great vibe whilst eating out, but we could hardly hear each other or the waitstaff which altered the mood for us. I think if you can sit outside (fresh air, less stuffy than inside and away from loud music) and order cocktails and the right dishes, you could have a 5 star evening. I’m not sure I will rush back, even though I wanted to...
