Ekam Palace Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

We have ordered a fair bit here over the few years we have been in the area and there are definitely some inconsistencies. I know this because we order the same two dishes every time. The Raita is delicious, the butter chicken is just how we like it (creamy, slightly sweet and full-flavoured) most of the time. Sometimes it feels a little less full-flavoured. The lamb korma when made well is amazing and the lamb is mostly soft and tender with the odd tough/overcooked pieces. I like my korma creamy and slightly sweet but sometimes they make this quite salty with no hint of sweet...when I make mention of it, they always sound surprised but it has happened several times over the years and every now and then I will get a great one. Also, I have had to drive back to the restaurant a couple of times when I have returned home to find a mistake in my order ie missing rice or a dish was wrong only to be told "sorry" with a lovely smile but no compensation. Not bad customer service as they are always friendly but a bit of compensation to keep a repeat customer...

Would not recommend.. watery curry with no flavour... wish it was better and actually had flavour and was thick.. only JUST sauce constant.. :/ naan bread was doughy and not cooked proplery.. DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST... :( was expecting higher standards from a kitchen..

Yeah went to talk to the "chef" and got yelled at.. woot good service.. NOT... haha gotta love when the chef screws up and won't admit it.. im glad we got a refund.. had heart burn for the rest of the night.. got told one thing by one staff member then another from a different one.. haha you should be...

I don’t want to do this or place a negative review but I must say I ordered chicken tikka masala rice and garlic naan, I ended up throwing it in the bin, the taste was bland, masala was pale with no taste and definitely not medium hot as requested. There was 2 small pieces of capsicum and onion in the whole dish, the garlic naan was terrible and not traditional, I really don’t know what say about this anymore, never thrown all the food...
