Unfortunately, as a loyal Zambrero lover, I’ve just about had enough of the Coolangatta location. The staff are consistently slow and seem miserable, making me feel like an inconvenience every time I walk in.
I always order the same burrito, yet I’ve never had it made the same way twice. I order a small burrito and am repeatedly asked, “Would you like to add guac for $1 extra?” However, when I agree, they try to charge me $2 instead. Every time I point out that it’s meant to be $1 for a small guac add-on, they act like it’s a mistake—despite this happening every single time over the 20+ visits I’ve made. I can’t help but wonder what extras they sneak onto inexperienced customers’ bills.
What finally tipped me over the edge today was a middle-aged man with glasses coughing all over my burrito before wrapping it so poorly I could barely eat it. On top of that, every table in the seating area was filthy, covered with food and rubbish, even though three workers were wandering around on their phones.
I’m sorry to leave such a negative review, but this location really needs to improve. It’s disappointing as someone who usually...
Read moreI ordered a bowl with pulled pork and supplement guacamole... I was waiting my partner at the terrace when he arrived with the bowl and I just hallucinated with the small amount of guacamole I've got for an $2 extra ... And beause of my reaction, my partner approved it explaining me that the guys who did it just finished the container of guacamole and didn't reopen another one as the other worker (the girl) did just after him for the next client. So, I went inside to ask to have a bit more of guacamole and this guy explained me that he gave the standard amount of it. I had to insist telling him about what my partner explain me with that end of container and his answer was; "Ok, to be nice I can add you some more but just to be nice" ... What an answer when he knew that he was just lasy to open a new container of guacamole!!. Also the pull pork was a deception as it was more looking and tasting as a mince and almost none and was more of the green salad than anything else. The good point is the corn and little tomato cubes, they were in a good amount was more of the salad than...
Read moreYesterday I went to the restaurant to try the burritos. The burritos weren't bad, the problem was the service. Before ordering my classic burrito I asked the girl if it had cilantro. Confused, she looked at me without knowing what it was and without knowing what to say. We explained it to him and he still didn't say anything with a confused face, cilantro being an important element in Mexican food. Zero professionalism in trying to resolve the problem since I can't eat cilantro and I wanted to make sure. The colleague was not able to say anything either and we had to be the ones to react and tell them that it did not matter, with the risk of having it. Although the burrito was good, the energy they had and the interest in serving was so bad that we will not return.
I write this review to help you improve, since I don't think that people like this in foh are the most suitable. Sometimes for a business to work you don't just have to take into account the food. Thank you and...
