Visited Elk Espresso for a few coffees whilst down the coast for a holiday. Heard such great things from their reviews but were pretty disappointed with our visit.
Firstly, the location and vibe of the cafe was stunning. Just a minutes walk to the beach, and seating that overlooks the beautiful landscape! Unfortunately most of the parking is metered in the week. The staff that greeted us on arrival was really outgoing and friendly, however the girl taking our order seemed annoyed; being short and rushed with us. We didn’t really pay much mind, just a general observation. The service was really quick, the cafe definitely has their routines in check.
We ordered two iced vanilla lattes and an almond croissant. The croissant was so fresh- crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We really enjoyed it. The coffees however were so sour, even the syrup couldn’t mask the taste. Usually we can look past it and just drink it, but we couldn’t even finish them. I didn’t want to bring it to the staffs attention as they seemed so rushed and busy, I knew it would be an inconvenience- so that’s on me! Would recommend timing the espresso pour to ensure all the coffees are consistent and smooth tasting.
Overall based on our experience (just trying coffees and a pastry) we probably wouldn’t be back if in the area, but hope our experience was just a one off and others enjoy...

⏰5:45-15:00 Gold Coast is a holiday resort, so a leisurely brunch is a must. This time I came to try out the internet celebrity check-in & Jay Chou's favorite store🙆🏻♀️ I thought it was just a place to visit, but it tasted better than expected! 🍳Salmon Hash - The signature dish of the store, there are salmon, avocado, fried potato balls and half-cooked eggs Benedict, which are very good together and delicious. 🥙Fried Chicken Benedict - This time's first recommendation❤️🔥, the fried chicken is very tender and juicy, and it is also paired with half-cooked eggs Benedict, lettuce and grilled corn. The most important thing is! His sauce is very special and delicious! It's a bit hard to describe what kind of sauce it is, it's like a very rich cheese sauce with a little seasoning, slightly spicy overall, paired with charcoal grilled corn kernels, awesome🤙🏻 🥐Croissant - just a regular croissant (not the crispy type), with cream and jam ☕️ Lindt Mocha - this is also recommended by many people, but maybe the expectations are too high, it's not as delicious as imagined
🌹Overall, it's not just a popular check-in shop, the food is delicious, and there's a beach next to it, which is very suitable for a relaxing vacation. The star casino is also not far away, and those who want to gamble can also go there...
Read moreLocated in Broadbeach, Gold Coast. The cafe faces the sea and is just off the beach, so after a walk or run on the beach, many people stop for a cup of coffee or for breakfast. We went for breakfast and were seated quickly. The menu offers a large range and selection. I asked for my coffee to come with the meal, and the waiter said he wasn't sure if that could be done (what??). It was only after I insisted that he reluctantly agreed to see if that was possible. Breakfast was served and my coffee came with it 😋, the others had their coffee earlier. The doughnut was cold and we had to ask for it to be warmed up. This was quickly done (another waiter) with no fuss and a smile. Food tasted good, and the atmosphere around quite pleasant. We sat outside and under cover, the area was roomy and tables and chairs clean, with a few hopeful birds around. Across the road from the cafe is a Kurrawa Park, a small grassy area, and there is a Sunday market there every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. The market sells mainly art and craft, some food, personal and pet remedies as well as massages and physic readings. The cafe is just a stones throw away from the Sunday market. Overall, the coffee and food was good, though it would have been better if there was a bit more care in the...
