We recently tried yum cha for the first time at Grand Dynasty Yum Cha and Seafood Restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. Our meal included a variety of dishes: scallops and prawn dumplings, steamed spare ribs with black bean sauce, steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce, deep-fried squid tentacles, stir-fried long beans, deep fried glutinous balls with pork mince, deep fried prawns bean curd skin roll, steamed rice noodles with fried dough, and egg tarts. Every dish we ordered was not only tasty but also beautifully prepared. What made our experience even more enjoyable was the warm and humorous demeanor of the boss. Their friendly and light-hearted interactions added a special touch to our meal. However, one small suggestion for improvement would be to replace the mayo with sweet fruity mayo to accompany the deep-fried bean curd prawns. This change could elevate the flavors even further. Overall, our experience at Grand Dynasty was delightful, and we look forward to returning to savor more of their delicious offerings. If you’re a fan of yum cha and seafood, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

📍Grand Dynasty Yumcha & Seafood Restaurant Had a taste of Asian food in Gold Coast but it didn’t quite hit the right spot. Both dishes lacked that “wok hei” flavours that we craved so much. However, the portions are huge and amount of seafood is definitely generous and fresh. It would be so so so much better with fresh cut chilli padi, but I guess their chilli oil will do too. In this case, I’d go for the rice > noodles. Price: * Combination Seafood Fried Rice (28.80 AUD) * Seafood with Egg White Sauce and Flat Rice Noodles (32.80 AUD) Location: Oasis Shopping Centre, Broadbeach, Gold Coast Time: 11am-10pm #critzspot #foodie #foodier #noms #eats #aussie #australia #goldcoast #asian

Ken and his team at Grand Dynasty are exceptional. We are regulars, and somehow everyone time we walk in, the team go out of their way to make us feel like family. The food is fantastic and our particular favourites are the crispy noodles with king prawns and the salt and pepper squid. I have to say, the salt and pepper squid is by far the best of it's kind! Secret herbs and spices I'm sure. The Yum Cha daily menu is a great choice for lunch with friends too - we just love it! Service is great and always delivered with a smile. Thank you Grand Dynasty, we'll see you again very soon.

Awful experience. We were asked by a waitress to follow her to be seated inside the restaurant. Then she left us at the front door and asked us to wait for her there. Just when we were wondering if she was coming back as she appeared to be serving another customer, a waiter came and told us abruptly to "go wait outside and don't block the way". We decided to leave the restaurant after the unpleasant experience.

I completely agree their response that it was neither safe nor appropriate to wait near the busy restaurant entrance, especially when I have a little boy with us. However, they seemed to be completely oblivious with the fact that we were asked to wait there by the restaurant's own staff and seemed have been forgotten. After I left the one star comment, we were approached on the street, lectured on how inappropriate we were to wait at the front door, and not entitled to comment on their service as we didn't eat at the restaurant.

I take on their feedback and update this comment to stipulate that I didn't eat at the restaurant and therefore this comment has nothing to do with the quality of the food. However, I disagree that I am entitled to comment on their service. I was at the restaurant and received a confusing and rude service. Further, for approaching me on the street and telling me how inappropriate I was to give the restaurant a one star review, I think they have really earned...

18/6/22 Not pleased at all by a waiter Da*'s poor customer service. When we enquired about an order that didn't turn up, he was adamant we didn't order without even bother to check his record first. And it turned out we got charged extra for an order we were not served! Also, we were charged for the take-away boxes which he didn't tell us those were chargeable when other restaurants gave away free for dine-in customers. We didn't use up all the take-away boxes thinking not to use more than necessary but that never came off the bill either...So, if anyone come across this sort of customer service again, make sure you insist to see his record of order that you made.

19/6/22 Glad to have talked with Kenny. He understood the issue I raised and offered his repeated apologies and refund for the missed order, as well as the chance to experience his service by visiting his restaurant again. I appreciate his sincere gesture and the effort on corrective action he has taken, and will take to improve customers' experience in his restaurant. I told him monetary refund was not what I was seeking but rather hoping a one-star comment of factual encounter could drive an improvement in common-sense approach to customer's query on missing orders. And to be fair, other waiter and waitresses, whom we observed were doing fine. So, thank you Kenny for the chat today and...

First off all I must admit it was my mistake not to book for a table in advance, instead I decided to stroll down the vibrant Broadbeach central and randomly walked into this restaurant. A family of 4 was put into the corner facing 2 walls. When my wife asked for a dish called Japanese tofu, which is a very common chinese restaurant dish, at least in Western Australia. Instead of telling us they dont have such dish, we were slapped in the face with ‘We are a Chinese restaurant and dont expect us to have Japanese food’ We did end up order other dishes. We ordered Fried Rice, Mongolian Lamb, Salt n Pepper spare ribs and Tofu seafood claypot. We The food was below average. Perhaps at best at the same level of any Chinese takeaway joint, let alone the inflated price. I understand the location was part of the price. However the our experience from the location was the 2 walls. The service was slow, again maybe because we sat in the corner and lost staff’s attention. And we eventually gave up and asked to cancel the last dish. When paying I was asked by the manager/owner how everything was. I was giving the bad impression and was to tired to explain what went wrong. She gave me a few dollars discount and a dessert as an apology. At least they tried to fix it but overall it was the low of my week long visit...
