I read some reviews before coming and seen a lot of low scores and thought they were fake and was going to White Knight and say how good this place is (I have come around ten plus times previously but first time in over 6 months.
I struggled with what to give this review. On my experience from this night. Zero would be more appropriate than 1. I internally fought and have given two star because I have to believe this was an off night.
After reading reviews I seen comments of staff not being friendly. I alway judge by if I can see they are young or new and shy. Or English may not be first language so would never judge some shyness or mis understandings. But upon arrival waiting at front. Multiple ppl walked past seemingly purposely avoiding eye contact. No smile, no communication that someone will be with you shortly. We were only ones waiting and was kinda awkward. If I didn’t know better Id assume you were supposed to just walk in and find own seats we were there so long with no one saying anything.
So at this stage I said oh… maybe reviews are right but that’s not a 1 star. I’m going to give 4
Ordered food and drinks……a lot of time passes. While waiting staff member carrying two high chairs (one in each arm) banged 80% if not all chairs and tables he past just smiling and laughing it off ‘saying sorry’ but not stopping and continuing. I looked at partner and mouthed Wow’. She was wide eye as well after watching this unfold. This same employee seem to attempt flirting with a staff member (I think) by stepping on her feet near til in middle of restaurant. she seemed annoyed and said ‘told you not to in front of people’ (or similar) and he sheepishly laughed it off. So now I’m thinking and said to partner. What’s happened. This is like 3 star.
After about 15/20 minutes entree arrived but no drinks but assumed they would come now we have entree…. 4 mins later mains arrived. But one of dishes were wrong. Girl took it back and two minute late returned with correct. At this stage asked about our drinks. She said she would check. We started eating mains slowly. about 5mins later a different waitress asked how we were and we said we are still waiting on drinks. She than returned and confirmed our order by saying what we ordered and we said yes. Drinks came soon after.
During this I seen multiple items leave kitchen and go back and then back out again. The table behind twice was offered food they didn’t order.
The food was really disappointing. Partner had curly fries the main reason she likes coming and it look like she got the dregs. Literally only one of the fries was curly the rest were short bent ones.not even half a curls.( I wish I took picture) And my steak just didn’t have the taste or quality I would expect from here based on previous experiences.
The ppl behind left while I was eating and two ppl sat down 30secs later and for a third time the table was almost given food they didn’t order. This time two cheesy garlic breads. If it was my first time here I would have assumed they were free upon arrival.(if I was them)
Staff continually mucking around was the only time I seen a smile. I was seating near till in middle of restaurant and this is where I seen these interactions.
So this review was awkward I came on intentions of writing a review. And thinking it would be a good experience and encourage ppl to come here. Now after this experience I’m not so sure. The price isn’t cheap and if I’m paying that price I don’t expect this experience.
I struggled with rating. 0/1 star on this experience or solid 4 from previous. But after seeing other reviews I can confirm some of bad they wrote but also the good others have written by my own past experiences.
Im not sure when I will be back. But I will give it one more go. I don’t want to believe it has dropped...

Efficiency was another strong point. Despite the busy evening, my orders were promptly taken, and the food arrived in a timely manner. It was clear that they were able to manage their responsibilities with a high level of professionalism and organization.
In all my dining experiences, I can confidently say that this particular team member truly stands out. Their dedication to providing exceptional service, combined with their product knowledge, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor, made my visit to Hog's Breath a memorable one. They are a true asset to the restaurant and exemplify what exceptional customer service should be.
